If you actually want to buy this game, consider this - this game is in a same state that Risk of Rain 2 was at the first day it released in early access. Moreover, this game has pretty solid base in terms of weapons to play with (man there is a LOT of them), fighting mechanics, movement mechanics (hoverboard is so much fun to use), but haven't quite figured it's pacing and progression.

This game tries to be some kind of roguelike extraction slasher, and to my surprise i kind of get why it could be fun if devs would expand and work a bit more on their vision. The mechanic of durability of your gear that expenses when you fail to extract from a location is quite invigorating and pushes you to use all of the stuff that you collect during your past runs, or to try new ones from the shop. Some people have a problem with this, but i think they just approach this game kind of in a wrong way and do not take time to prepare before boss stages.

So yeah, it is fun. Do not get why there is a lot of mixed reviews, early access moment i guess. If you want a fun slasher that has a lot of weapons to pick from with unique combos, get it by any way that is affordable to you.
