So to start of, I've played the game since 2018 and took a break in 2020 and after 2000 hours (4k at time of revision) I think its time to actually write a proper review.

Gameplay:
3/10
The game USED to be a challenge, the missions were challenging and had you made specialized vehicles (especially the tanker one) and they had variation. This all changed with the mission update, which didn't add content but removed the old decent content and replaced it with go to x on map locate vehicle put out fire and bring npc's to a hospital, which was ok the first 2 times but it gets old really quickly. Then you might say "but the workshop fixes this" in which you would be right to some degree the workshop missions are decent, but that's not the point the old missions were fine why replace them with these boring missions.
But in the end this entire section literately doesn't matter because no one plays career lol.

This is GOLD, out of the games that I've played this has the best editor. It feels intuitive, has the right tools & seems to be fairly stable. There is only one thing I wish the devs would add in the editor: Saved toolbars, like in minecraft have saved toolbars so that you can quickly switch between the blocks you want.


But why is this review not recommending the game?
It feels like the game only goes downhill, the new radars are bad for what i use them for (which is missiles and yes they are supposed to be used with missiles) so I use the old ones which get jammed by propellers, only have 1 target output & only have one axis of measurement to use. an other example of the game going downhill would be the lastest update (as of 10-2-2022) which completely broke aerodynamics and allowed vehicles to go mach jesus while they shouldn't be able to do that.
More things in this list:
  • Modular engine's are insane to cool
  • The air has the consistancy of a well known white sticky liquid
  • It feels like the devs don't test the game, more on this later.
  • Update brakes my missiles, like every time (not only missiles at this point)
  • Devs are not in contact with the community
  • Game is still in beta (well its technically not it certainly fails like it)

Recently (as the latest update to this review) the space DLC has released and with that the pressure update. The pressure update doesn't through out a system it's on a component basis (susceptible to tick delay and causes really weird issue's related to fluids (gasses and liquids), beside the way the fluid system rework is done the launch (of the update/DLC) is absolutely botched while they have started fixing the game it shows the absolute attitude that has been given to the update and what is wrong with the games update cycle. Beginner (one of the devs) has admitted to not testing the core components of the game before releasing a major patch, how is that supposed to work??? They work on a update for months and don't test it, that seems like they could've made a pre-release version of the game public for beta testing, which we had at one point why is it gone we should have/get this asap.
Then there is also the bi weekly minor update, this is a non-maintainable pace for the game in my opinion, I'd rather have medium sized updates once per 2 months or maybe once per month, where quality is a number 1 point instead of a after thought.

These things have made me think about if I should recommend this game, and I don't feel like I should. While I absolutely love this game it has its more then fair share of problems, and it feels as if they aren't being addressed, which just is kinda depressing.
