So, Prey
It's my personal dream game even before I knew that I have such dream game in mind or in need. As a casual fan of sci-fi genre and science in general + lover of transhumanism theme in media I can highly recommend Prey. I won't tell the known story about "unfair lack of attention on the release", at that point it's just a fate for such cult games I guess. The design and art of Prey is remarkable, weapons, atmosphere, the idea and look behind different divisions and Talos-1 in general, it is very gorgeous. I personally believe that after gravity gun in half life, gloo gun in Prey is the next major step in creative weapon design (also lol, gravity gun and crowbar in half life and gloo gun and wrench in prey, you see?). Controls in open space are very natural and just right, giving the feeling as if I would really be in space. The view of Earth, Moon and cosmic void when you first go out into open space and feeling of it thanks to size of Talos, impressive distances between different objects and places outside the station, are really breathtaking and making you believe that you here are stranded; when I tried to fly away towards the Moon I was very horrified by loneliness and isolation that was pressing harder with every meter separating me from Talos, where, yeah, typhons and stuff, but not this unimaginably sized emptiness. Story is intriguing and especially its final. Questions that will be raised here and decisions you make will test yu as a person, as a human being. Also side stories, lore and overall atmosphere of every crew member, their work before the incident, their relationships, everyday life here is very human. You can really see how even the brightest minds liked to play DnD or have a musical concert and other grounded stuff. Ofc there are some little bugs, that I even met in different walkthroughs at the same place, but as I said they are minor and don't break the game or your immersion. If you are not familiar with immersive sims (otherwise you know about Prey without this review lol) give it a try and especially try Prey if you just like good and unconventional sci-fi, it won't disappoint you and mby it will become your favorite game as it has become for me
