Spent almost 150 hours in it so far and here are my thoughts about the game:

Play a solo character. ✓
Be a thief. ✓
Be an assassin. ✓
Be a merchant. ✓
Be a sword for hire. ✓
Be all of the above and more. ✓
Be lonely. ✓
Decide to go around recruiting a group of characters after playing solo for so long. ✓
Build a bunch of houses. ✓
Build farms. ✓
Build walls. ✓
Establish a base. ✓
Get your group to work the base. ✓
Become a small productive town. ✓
Pick a faction/guild to support, and fight other factions/guilds. ✓
Pick the wrong factions/guilds to support, and watch them fight you. ✓
Get your ass stomped. ✓
Lose your group. ✓
Lose a limb or two. ✓
Lose your base. ✓
Become a prisoner. ✓
Contemplate ending it all. ✓
Decide not to end it all. ✓
Escape your cell. ✓
Sneak out of town. ✓
Go to a neutral town far away. ✓
Get replacement robot limb(s). ✓
Training montage. ✓
Get harder. ✓
Get better. ✓
Get faster. ✓
Get stronger. ✓
Become one with your weapon. ✓
̶H̶i̶r̶e̶ Make friends with powerful people. ✓
Get the gang back together. ✓
Siege your stolen base. ✓
Battle your previous captors. ✓
Win. ✓
Sell survivors to slave traders. ✓
Celebrate with the gang over sake. ✓
Return base to former glory. ✓
Drink more sake on your balcony while basking in your triumphant victory. ✓
Reminisce about the trials and tribulations leading up to this point. ✓
Next bunch of ruffians turn up at your gates. ✓

Whatever you decide to go with, you start off getting your ass stomped by pretty much everything. So long as you dont die, your story goes on. Can't wait for the game to finish development. Other aspects I might've left out:
Crafting. ✓
Cooking. ✓
Hunting. ✓
Smithing weapons and armour. ✓
Exploring. ✓
Different nations. ✓
