Looking for a multiplayer buddy? Hit me up!
I can't promise I'm always available, but if you're looking for a buddy in these games, ask me if I'm around:

Deep Rock Galactic
Killing Floor 2
Team Fortress 2
Dark Souls (any of them)
Payday 2
Alien Swarm Reactive Drop
Double Dragon Neon
Saints Row 4

I also have CSGO but I haven't played it for a year or so an my rank is probably silver 1 these days. I used to be Master Guardian something or other at one point, but I'm probably way too rusty for anything other than casual now.

Don't bother to ask me for early access zombiecrafting survival sandbox mmos like Rust or 7 Days or whatever. Not interested, sorry.

This game is an absolute steal even at its full price. It's a very well done PC port with no technical issues. Just be warned that the game has no autosave whatsoever so always save at a save point manually before exiting the game! Thankfully the nearest save point is always nearby.

Yakuza 0 is a prequel to the very popular Yakuza game series and also the series PC debut. The game does not require any prior knowledge of the series so it serves as a very good entry point for newcomers. There are some scenes and character introductions that may carry more weight if you know how the story evolves in the main series, but these things are also presented in a way that it's clear that they will be important somewhere in the future.

The yakuza games are typically jrpg/street brawler hybrid games where the player character develops their stats by acquiring new abilities and special attacks as well as upgrades to max HP and such. During enemy encounters the game turns into a 3D fighting game with somewhat simple controls (light attack, heavy attack, throw, block) and a bunch of special moves that trigger under certain conditions. In Yakuza 0 both main characters learn 3 different fighting styles; one fast, one slow and one in-between and they all have strengths and weaknesses according to the environment and the number and type of enemies. For the record, there's also a secret fourth style to be learned in the game but finding it is left up to the player.

The story is split between two main characters and their two locations, a young yakuza Kazuma Kiryu in Kamurocho, Tokyo and a night club manager Goro Majima in Sotenbori, Osaka. Their stories seem largely unconnected at first and the game switches protagonists in every other chapter but little by little the plot threads start to come together and the way one story stops in a cliffhanger before switching to the other leaves the player wanting to play more just to see what happens next. The plot is a quite well written crime drama, almost like a Japanese Godfather with many characters that all feel unique and have their own interests at play.

As for the game world and content, the closest equivalent I can think of is Shenmue. The game world is very small but at the same time completely packed with content. Each location is just a few blocks of a Japanese metropolis with restaurants, night clubs, bars and other such location connected by streets and alleys, but the areas are just as large as they need to be. You never have to go too far to get to the next plot progression point or to find more optional side content and the environment is so lively it will hold your interest at least for a little while.

Speaking of side content, the game features 100 different side quests plus all sorts of minigames ranging from rhythm games like karaoke and disco dancing to games of skill and/or luck like poker, shogi, mahjong and bowling. Most of these have some sort of side quests attached to them if you do them enough and almost everything that the player ever does has some sort of completion list attached to it, whether it is just walking a certain distance, using certain attacks, winning enough money in a game etc etc. While this game has a very strong main plot, it really is the side content that contains some of the more memorable moments in Yakuza games. Saturday Night Fever style disco battles, teaching a dominatrix how to be a proper S/M queen, hunting down a copy of a popular video game for a boy who got it stolen from him, joining a medical experiment to earn a bunch of cash... There's a lot of stories, some heartwrenching, some extremely goofy and the best thing is, nothing ever feels creepy or out of place (with the one exception of the collection of gravure videos). All the stories feel like they are part of the whole, the pulsating life of Kamurocho (or indeed Sotenbori) and they are made even better by the main characers themselves, especially Kiryu. He is a man who can at one moment be kicking the teeth in for some mafia boss trying to frame him for murder and at the very next moment be racing tiny pocket cars with a bunch of elementary school kids and be totally into it with all his heart and soul.

Speaking as someone who has 100%'d this game, as much as I love it, full completion is really not worth it. The side stories are great, but getting all the completion list items on some of the minigames is just way too frustrating. The controls work fine, but some games are just way too rng dependent to be any fun if you're actually trying to make a profit or getting a prefect score in them. Thankfully the content is so plentiful that even if you don't like half of what the game has to offer, you're bound to find something to waste hours on, whether it is pool or bowling or mahjong or something else. Just try everything at least once.

Edit: one more thing: none of the content in the game is missable. The game world opens up gradually as the plot progresses, but none of the side stories or games are locked away for good. Some earlier Yakuza games did have that problem but in Yakuza 0 you have the freedom to take your time with the main plot and do the side stuff completely at your leisure. Have fun!

Edit 2: nominated this game in Steam Awards for its environment because while the game world is small, it's very easy to just lose yourself in the atmosphere and all the stuff you can see and do.

Another mod, my second mod for this game, made it in about 2 hours, sound files were easy to find for obvious reasons, made it for a friend and then thought about uploading it, enjoy. Vid url: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hMz1YTTk4Og If this doesn't wor
