A haunting experience in all the good ways, LISA: The Painful tells the story of a broken man in a broken world, where you will unravel his past, exploring the depths of his own trauma, guilt, addiction, and selfishness to protect his loved one.

Sprinkle in some morbidly dark humour, an absolutely killer soundtrack that mirrors the chaos of the wasteland and the brutality of it's landscape, and you've got a cult-classic RPG that is incredibly rewarding to experience as you'll discover that in one way or another, you can relate to that same desperation to protect something precious to you, at the cost of your comrades, or yourself.

A promising IP within an upcoming mainstream genre, Ghostrunner offers a scratch for that cyberpunk itch with it's high-octane levels of one-hit violence and platforming delivered in a tight 5-6 hours, replayability is subject to fast times and low deaths.

The world (the levels) while samey, creates a claustrophobic concrete playground for you to exploit and manoeuvre and you WILL be rewarded for having the wits to save yourself from a fall or finding a quicker, alternative path. To add, enemy variety provides much needed respite from the monotony.

The story serves it's purpose in creating a believable world, with key details obscured as to pique your interest without suffocating the player, I would definitely like to see it expanded upon in any future titles or dlc.

My only issues is that there were times of frustration during the puzzle sequences, they can drag out for too long at times and aren't particularly fun, perhaps if there was more platforming and combat akin to the regular levels (but still focusing on the puzzle elements) I feel like that would be an improvement, the second issue is more personal to me, but I felt that there were times I should have clearly performed a wall-run, only to fall to my death or vault off things I want to precisely jump on, but I could also say the movement is focused on "flow" rather than precision.

Did I mention the soundtrack is absolutely killer?

All in all, I really enjoyed this game, i'm glad I had the opportunity to play it and hope it encourages more studios to explore the genre.
