Early Access Review
I wanted to write this to hopefully let people know that there is a lot of good things here hidden behind all these negative reviews.

I streamed this game today and went through quite a few disconnects and moments where I couldn't teleport out of the zones I were in. But this is a new game, early access, and I will admit, I haven't kept track of it except just knowing that it was going to be releasing at some later date. When I seen it was out, I read reviews and was surprised by them. I looked up gameplay and felt that I had to give it a shot because the gameplay didn't look as bad as what everyone was saying.

Well, I'm glad I decided to buy the game. Although it was rough getting started and staying on for long periods of time, the game was very solid. Animations were great, graphics looked nice and I love the new artstyle. The game ran pretty fluid, a few hiccups but I was playing in Borderless Fullscreen while streaming so *shrug*. I played as the Dusk Mage on the hardest difficulty (Ridiculous) and definitely enjoyed the combat and close to death moments I had. Leveling seemed well, I never felt underleveled or too overleveled.

I do feel it is the fault of the devs for the disconnects but they've kept the game chat and their Twitter account active about what they are doing and paying attention to. They may also be doing it inside Discord as well. I hope they continue to turn things around because I'm enjoying my time with the game thus far and I'm sure it will just be getting better.

I Now Want To See The Show

Pros
  • The combat is so fun, being able to switch elements and string combos is a blast
  • Elements are very different, Water is more for distance, Earth is slow and powerful, Fire is fast and flashy, Wind is crowd control and OP which is awesome lol
  • Beautiful graphics, reminds me of anime games which I feel they look amazing
  • Story was good, not great, it seemed like more filler to the show
  • Difficulty, it was not easy (I played on Normal) which was nice to not just fly through it
  • Once dying, you are able to purchase healing items again which helps in being able to overcome areas that you see difficult
  • Several unlockables, moves to purchase per element, trinkets to give buffs, and healing items
  • Presentation on par with what I've seen of the Avatar franchise
  • The Pro Bending mini game is pretty unique, would have loved to see an online portion just for it
Cons
  • Difficulty, though I viewed as a Pro, it can also be frustrating at times when you get killed at the same part over and over
  • Kind of short, I beat it in roughly 6 hours but not bad per say for the price you pay
  • Just pallete swaps on all enemies (not a big gripe in my opinion but there isn't much variety in enemies)
  • The final boss gave me a headache!! HUGE TIP: Learn to counter attack and be patient lol

Overall
I enjoyed this title for what I paid (around $3). The story was more or less a filler similar to other cartoons of this style and anime. I have never seen this show but I binge-watched Avatar: The Last Airbender and this was a nice addition to that universe I felt. To me, it is a nice action title for the price with decent length.

A Puzzle Lover's Dream

Pros
  • Art style is uique, color varies on areas
  • Music is amazing, you can get lost in it
  • The game has it's own language used in puzzles
  • Some puzzles really require some use of your brain, so awesome
  • The ending is a trip and pretty sweet
  • Controls are nice, the platforming is perfect

Cons
  • The map can be confusing for some, it took me awhile to get how it worked
  • If you don't know the game's language, it can be tough to solve some puzzles
  • Lots of backtracking if you wish to complete some areas 100%, for those that dislike backtracking

Overall
I found the game to be pretty great. Like the header says, if you love puzzle games and trying to solve them, you will enjoy this title. The movement is great and responsive. I played with a Xbox 360 controller. Definitely enjoyed this title.
