I play games primarily for the story, and oh my god, Baldur's Gate 3 delivers. This is a game that has made me fall out of my chair giggling, brought tears to my eyes, and has (at times) made me screech in anguish or from being absolutely flabbergasted at plot twists. The characters and NPCs are full of personality (A+ script writing and voice acting!) and have all wormed their way into my heart (and brain... I'm literally dreaming about Gale now. Help.). I enjoyed the throwbacks to DnD, in mechanics and gameplay, and the lore drops for those uninitiated in the Forgotten Realms! I haven't been so utterly immersed in a game since Star Wars: The Old Republic, and I haven't been so satisfied with a game's ending since Dragon Age: Origins. This game is a masterpiece, and definitely a well-deserved Game Of The Year! Well done, Larian.
