The Crash Bandicoot games are linear, A-to-B, “hallway” 3-D platformers. And they’re great! Well, the first three are anyhow. And those are the ones in this remake!

Even if you’re not great at video games, these games aren’t the hardest to beat. And if you ARE good at video games, 100%ing each game is a fun challenge. And if you hate yourself, you can even attempt to beat all the platinum relic time trials.

There are no subtitles, which sucks if you’re deaf or hard-of-hearing. Luckily, the plot of these games doesn’t really matter. This ain’t, uh, Final Fantasy 7 over here.

Some of the secret collectibles and levels are found by doing weird things you wouldn’t naturally think to do while playing the game. The loading screens will hint at some of them, but don’t feel bad if you have to look some things up. It’s a platformer! This ain’t, uh, Riven: The Sequel to MYST over here.

You can probably play this pretty well with just a keyboard, since the original games were made with the analogue stick-less PlayStation 1 controllers in mind.
