Heart and Slash is a rogulike action platformer beat-em-up. That sounds like a lot of things but it basically all boils down to, "Beat up all the robots you see." And it makes for a really awesome game that's a ton of fun while also being decently challenging. No enemy is too difficult, and you can easily jump into the game and play for a while before you even realize that it's been that long. The soundtrack is also amazing and I definitely recommend getting it with your purchase of the game. I could play the game and listen to the accompanying soundtrack all day long and not get tired of it. It's also made even cooler by the fact that the dev is still adding updates to the game, such as the recent addition of the endless dungeon mode, which gives you a playground to mess around in after you beat the story mode.

All in all, this is a great game and it's definitely worth the price that it's being sold for, you get a great game, a great soundtrack, and a pretty decent experience.

You're gonna get mad. You're gonna wanna quit. You're going to close the game and walk around the room wherever your computer is situated. And then it's going to happen, that breakthrough you've been looking for. And it's going to open up a whole new area for you to explore and it's going to be worth it all. Just know this going into this game. It's going to be difficult, and it's not always going to be fair, but give it some time. You'll get there, and it'll be great when you do.

This is like Dark Souls. If Dark Souls was still fun. And 2-D. And was a roguelike. And difficult as ♥♥♥♥. You know, maybe it's not actually like Dark Souls and people should stop comparing every game to Dark Souls.

This game follows the journey of the Drifter, a character who's suffering from a disease that's killing him and is trying to find a cure for it. The story isn't very obvious and it isn't shoved into your face, it's one of those games where you kinda have to piece it together and work with the community to get all of it. The game has a fair bit of challenge, but it's never to the point where you feel like it's unfair. The bosses do get difficult, but if you try to understand the boss' strategies and patterns then it should get easy. I beat the final boss on my second try during my first run through the game so it really isn't that hard all considered. Once you master the abilties offered the game becomes very easy and the added abilities you can purchase also add a level of ease once you master those as well, such as the ability to bounce back enemy projectiles. It makes certain sections much easier and it helps out immensely during bullet hell bosses.
Tl;dr, good game is good. Buy it.
