So far, so good! About 5 hours in, three into the story and two in survival.

UPDATE @ 10 hours- Game is still really fun! I'm enjoying survival mode, and the speed of updates and patches coming out from the devs are insane. Two days in, a major QOL change requested below was introduced (Item stack numbers), as well as a simple, but very effective map, and updated weapons/items. This is not a fully finished game, but a piece of dough in the oven, baking. I am enjoying my time so far, and will update again as I go.

The game is a little confusing at first, and not much is explained, but you can figure it out with the tutorial and some brain power. Some minor bugs, but nothing that I have noticed myself. UI is a little rough, but does the job. The tower-defense aspect of this game is really cool though, and I like being able to chop the trees in the city to build my defenses. The sheer NUMBERS of zombies is astounding, and it gets my brain really excited seeing hundreds of zombies blown to bits by a bomber.

TLDR: A little rough around the edges, but a solid concept. Will update this review as I play more, and more updates come out!

KEEP UP THE HARD WORK DEV!
If I could give recommendations...
*Show stack numbers on items in inventory (ADDED!)
*Add a "line" for aiming ranged weapons
*Give more usage to items in the world (Beds, Ovens, Sinks, Etc,.)
*Clean up UI a bit, and add an actual stats TAB (this was very confusing for me for the first two hours, you must click your character icon to pull up the menu)
More soon, thanks so much again Dev, keep up the work

Wow.. WOW WOW!
What a game! The first day the game came out, it sat at mixed reviews, and I waited a day, said screw it and bought it. Almost FIFTY hours later, and I'm still loving it. For being "early access" this game provides and incredible amount of depth, fun, ingenuity, and freedom.

This game mixes that late 90's style of video game graphics, merged with current tech to make it look very pleasing. Just like the other reviews, survival in the Half-Life 1 Black Mesa facility. While being entirely closed from the sky, the world feels so open, so many nooks and crannies to build a base, fort, resupply, etc. I was a little worried when worlds are not Randomly generated, but this map has been HAND-CRAFTED. Bit by bit. Locked doors that open later on reminiscent of Souls-like progression, vents that lead to secret rooms, hatches and ladders to scaffolding. Story gives me the same vibes as Grounded, one of my favorite survival games of all time. Story is very well made, and even though it's not complete, it still packs a punch and provides reasons to venture forth. So excited to see where the future of this goes.

I don't write reviews very often, but this one definitely deserves it. If you played Battle-Field 3 or 4 as a kid, this brings back all of those memories. The destruction of buildings and walls is done surprisingly well for a game made in this style, and I would say it's a little limited, but the game JUST came out. The vehicles drive smooth, and the turrets and guns feel very nice, and very responsive. The devs added a bunch of small features that really make this game come together. You can drag friendlies behind cover to revive them, or even drag enemies back to your team to show them what it's about. Finally, the voice-comms were one of the best ideas the devs could've thought of. The quality isn't fantastic, but damn it's so good. Being able to communicate locally creates cinematic and hilarious moments you won't forget; while killing an enemy will give you the satisfaction of their rage because of death-mic. Anyways, for three devs, this is an incredible accomplishment and I hope that it continues to grow.

TLDR: Great BF3 like game, worth the money and you'll have so much fun.

Nice, clean and addictive Rogue-like FPS. Lots of weapons to choose from, ranging from pistols to snipers, to power gloves and bricks, the arsenal is unending. Good set of starting heros with paid DLC for some really cool ones plus new weapons in each DLC. Skills and scrolls get upgraded/acquired every time you move through a level/vault upping your power, damage and ability. Super fun, and easy to sink some time into.

TLDR: If you like Risk of Rain 2, and fast-paced gameplay, this is the one. Lots of replayability, worth the money!

2024 UPDATE: NOTICE HOW ALL POSITIVE REVIEWS ARE UNDER 100HRS?
While the new horde mode is refreshing, it's beating a dead horse with a club. The major issues from years ago are still deep in the game. Player base is disgusting, and mods play favorites. After trying to get myself unmuted I was met with passive aggressive mods, who condescend you, and give sarcastic remarks. A simple "no" would suffice. While at the same time the servers are infested with losers stuck in political echo chambers who stroke each others deflated ego.

THE ONLY PEOPLE WHO DESERVE CREDIT ARE THE PEOPLE WHO MADE THE ACTUAL GAME.
Not "admins" or "creative directors" or "CEO's" or "Community Outreach"
The people who put their blood into this code just for you to tarnish it with your ♥♥♥♥ supervisors.

Spent a decent amount of time on this game, and the more my hours go up, the less I begin to want to play. As someone who started late, and became decent after a couple of months, I was really hoping to push through all the issues i've seen and try to play this game. But I cannot. The game is not good. It can be fun, yes. It can be intense, yes. But at the end of the day, the game is dry, with a toxic, horrible community, no new content is being put out, and the devs do not care about player, or community support and additions. The mods and admins on offical servers are corrupt, and abuse power relentlessly. Being muted for a your mom joke? Expect a perma-mute, especially if its towards an admin/mod. That's not even the gameplay. After struggling for hours to try and reach some semblance of "good" you still would not be able to keep up with the sweat-lords, who animation abuse and use mechanics not even presented in the tutorial. Cool, You've learned drags and accels, but it doesnt matter because someone using a two handed weapon 360 degree, back flip spins on you and slices your head clean off with 100hp and Tier two armor. Dragging and accels are a huge issue that causes the community to be split. The devs do not try to compromise, they would rather keep their game the way it is and let it die slowly.

TLDR: This game is not worth your investment of time. You will play, have fun occasionally, and then realize how much time you've wasted getting good at a dying, dry and broken game. Not worth it, spend your money on CHIV 2, the dev's actually listening this time.

UPDATED TLDR: DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME. DO NOT GIVE THESE POS'S ANYMORE MONEY, FOR THEM TO MAKE ANOTHER GAME THAT'S ♥♥♥♥, NOT LISTEN, AND KEEP THAT ♥♥♥♥♥ ON LIFESUPPORT TILL IT DIES!

Finally purchased this game, and I'm not lying when I say this: It's my favorite game. Rimworld has so much to offer in vanilla, and that just scratches the surface. The gameplay, story-tellers, relationships, pawns, animals, all come to life for you when you help guide your group to your goals. Wanna harvest organs and sell them on the black-market? There's a pawn for that. Wanna create a massive inter-planetary drug empire making millions in the process? What's stopping you? Or, would rather be a simple man and go with a bunch of tribals working their way up through the ages. Then you throw in some mods, and you never, ever get bored. If you do, just change up your mods/playstyle/scenario and start a new colony. Amazing game, with little to no bugs, fluid gameplay and a thriving community, you'd be asleep not to try this game out.

One of the most fun bullet hell FPS I've ever played. The soundtrack gives you the feelIng of a god while your running around dodging potentially deadly shots and increasingly hard enemies. Probably one of the hardest games i've played aswell.

Wow. Is all I have to say. At first it's not too fun, but once you get into it, it's crazy, and extremly hard to put down! I highly recommend this for any platform-shooter lovers!

Everyone complains on how this game's updates are super slow, that this is just another 2D adventure pixel game gimmic, but this game is far far far from it! The updates are much slower, but when they do come out, they're huge updates. Game changing if anything. The mechanics are great, the soundtrack beautiful. The games convays the feeling of being the last of your kind in the universe, and actually can get you sad sometimes. Hundreds of different weapons, that can have anything from Posion, to shooting axes! All worlds are different, randomly generated. An infinite universe? Yes please. Game is difficult, but not Dark-Souls difficult. Different varities of guns, staffs, armor. Seven races to choose from, and each have different things associated with them.

Summary:
BUY THIS GAME. Universe if infinite, tons of weapons, and great emotional story settings. It's worth it :)
