Starts of easy enough but soon you require to have more equipment than you can possibly have without paying for it. Feels like pay-to-win.

Nope, you can also assemble Duplicators which allow you to revive your ship in Invasion and PvE with common resources + credits, totally free. I have over 300 of them and didn't pay a cent on them. Simply go Workshop -> Then it should be on the top.

Nope. I quickly realized how to sell stuff in game credits. But even with that more game missions fail than succeed and the only way to fix the issues is paying real money to restart your ship within the mission

Hello,
If you mean that your storage is too full because of items, you can upgrade your storage up to 1500 units by paying with Credits (non-money currency), if you can not effort the credits at the moment, simply try to sell things you don't need anymore, you find all your items in Store -> My items.
