If you like building stuff underwater, and appreciate devs who are steadily improving the game experience while giving you an enormous amount to do at every stage in early access, this game's for you. It was worth whatever money I spent back when it was basically a sandbox survival sim. A few years later, as all the survival stuff has steadily improved, the story elements have progressed to the point where I'm not sure I want to play it any more. Not because I don't want to play it any more but because I don't want to spoil the "real" endgame for myself. I still keep firing it up every few months because random stuff just keeps being fun, interesting, and memorable. The first time I heard my giant robot sub tell me "Welcome Aboard, CAPTAIN" was one of my top 10 gaming moments the last few years. It almost made up for all the times before and since that the game has utterly terrified me. Seriously, don't ever leave the safe shallows unless you're cool with never feeling safe anywhere near RL water again. 10/10 would ruin future beach vacations again.
