This type of unemployment occurs when there is relatively regular or seasonal declines in economic activity and it is associated with industries where the demand for labour is lower at certain times of the year. In other words, demand for certain types of labour fluctuates with different season of the year. For instance, there may be high level of unemployment in the agricultural industry during certain periods of the year when it is not conducive for cultivation. Other instances could be water sports such as diving in monsoon season, or skiing during summer.
