Game of the Year 2022. I wish I can forget this game so I can play it again for the first time and be in awe. This game is dense! So many things to see, so many dungeons, spells, quests, bosses, and equipment to discover. You will not be able to uncover everything in a single playthrough. Eighty hours in and I think I only discovered half of everything this game has to offer.

I've played all From Software games except Bloodborne (PS Exclusive), and for me, this is their Magnum Opus.

If you plan on buying this game, I recommend to go in blind. Don't Google this game and dont read anything about it, allow yourself to be surprised. There's a reason it has an OVERWHELMING POSITIVE rating (as of this writing) on Steam.

Short but sweet. The game explores the philosophical meaning of life. Also, the gameplay is simple, but greatly executed. Easily my Indie Game of they Year 2021.

Game is great but buggy AF. I cannot recommend this. I'm almost at 80% of the game when this message keeps appearing and I cant continue the game anymore:

DirectX function "GetDeviceRemovedReason" failed with DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_HUNG: Device hung due to badly formed commands.

Did all the things I read from the forum: lowered settings, underclocked GPU, some regedit stuff, etc.

Broke my heart as I was already emotionally invested with the characters. Felt like I wasted my time.
This is what a breakup feels like.

Edit: Its now working. I initially thought of still giving it a thumbs down, but this game is sooo good that the positives overcome the negatives. So yeah, I recommend this game now. But play at your own risk.

This game made me emotionally invested to my allies, kinda like Mass Effect 2 - High School Edition

PROS:
+ Fun, deep, and engaging combat.
+ Easy to summon and invoke players to help you on your quest.
+ Hard, but fair.
+ Loot system is fun.
+ Cool Yokai designs.

CONS:
- Human bosses are basically revenants on steroids.
- Most submissions are recycled levels and some are not really engaging.
- Levels are awfully repetitive: Woods, castle, cave, woods, castle, cave..
- In late game (and DLC's) most enemy can one shot you. even when you're at the recommended level.

One of the best detective games I've played. Difficult and no hand-holding. The game designer, Lucas Pope, respects your intelligence.
