Oh boy where do I even start? Is it buggy? Absolutely! Is UE5 annoying because it loves to have texture pop ins and random stuttering? Yep. Braindead yet also omniscient A-Life? Lol of course.

However, is this game made with passion? Does it feel genuine like the older games? You betcha. Detailed? A-right. Stellar audio and visual design? YEP! FUN? IMMERSIVE? YES, 10x OVER. I'm putting this right next to Shadow of Chernobyl in terms of an overall experience. They kept the authenticity, while playing around with newer features. The story is the strongest its ever been, maintaining the philosophical consistency of the rest (characters and their motives). Absolutely love it.

Idk why I structured my review in this way, just how my thoughts turned out. In 2024, it's a full game, with all the bells and whistles you expect from GSC, and the experience that makes the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. franchise great. They deserve praise for what they're able to accomplish here.

Pretty okay. Kinda fun. Some weird stuff but the overall racing is decent. Story I haven't messed with as of now bc my lord I hate the characters. Got some Carbon here and there.

Promising. I had fun, I'm excited if they keep up with it with more maps, weapons, etc. A great groundwork, all the atmosphere and grit and charm is still very much there, just needs some polish. Hot damn the soundtrack boi. Some awesome great changes to adapt it to be more modern, but still very much NMRIH.

Here's what they need to re-implement though as more content is added:
-Infection (they're working on it)
-Ammo types
-Ammo unloading
-Suicide button
-Separate inventory system
-Holdable heavy melee
-Shoves for both guns, melee, and items bound to same key
-Precise melee swings per click
-Bullet penetration
-No stackable items (unless that's intentional)
-Ability to move while managing inventory
-KID ZOMBIES
-Cool ass menu art from Sick Joe
-Voice selection & playermodels
-MODDING & WORKSHOP SUPPORT
-SCRAP THE EFFING HERO SYSTEM. DON'T DO IT I SWEAR GUYS

Here's the BIG fixes:
-Fix latency
-Fix zombie flesh floating
-Fix hitboxes
-Fix player/zombie fps
-Fix toggable proximity chat (mine was always on)
-Fix throwables (radius and not being able to throw bug)
-Fix optimization

Here's what I like that's new:
-Level system and perks
-Character permadeath
-Objective setup (could use diversity)
-Environment design and detail
-Soundscape
-Zombie gore & design
-Voice acting
-Scavenging and score
-Decent physics, still feels weighty

Like a.... 6/10. Keep up with it guys.
