Dwarf Fortress in Space. Not much else to say. If you love games like DF and Prison Architect, you'll love this, especially with the zany random events and mods and add-ons to add replayability.

Tremendous. This is THE way to experience Half-Life 1 nowadays. A thoroughly well done tribute to the original that also expands on and enhances it.

Very spooky. Worst possible location to have a horror game. Very cosmic horror, body horror. Love it.

An astoundingly good entry into the Survival Horror genre.
It is intelligent, humorous, horrifying, and cheeky all at the same time.
The enemy designs are simple but effective, the story and mystery are intriguing, the main character is likable and relatable, it is just a fantastic game.

Don't dismiss it as just a throwback to survival horror classics like Resident Evil and Silent Hill. This game is tight. It delivers a lot in a small package, and I haven't had this much fun with a horror game in a long time. The ending is just the cherry on top. See for yourself.

Very fun. Some of IGA's best work. Wish there was a better way to port the DS games than having half the screen taken up the lower screen data.

You are a cog in the machine of an expansionistic, imperialistic, space corporation.

But none of that, matters, because you are a dwarf, and you were born and bred for this.

The only thing that matters is digging up that sweet, sweet, ore with three of your dwarfiest friends.

A fine example of the TTRPG translated into videogame form. This one is a great introduction to the world of Pathfinder and Golarion for those who haven't seen it before.

Functionally almost identical to DnD 3.5, and therefore the many games of the Baldur's Gate series, this one has the added wrinkle of exploring and managing your own kingdom, which adds it's own fun and faults to the game.

If I had any gripes with it, it would probably be that many of the combat encounters are overtuned, which is made even more frustrating when one considers the open-world nature of the map you explore. It's very easy to waste a lot of time exploring and encountering monsters which far outstrip the abilities of your party. This matter is made even worse when you find a party member or a piece of loot which would have aided you, had you found them several weeks or months earlier in your travels.

This design choice wouldn't be inherently bad in and of itself, were it not for the fact that you are TIMED in your endeavors for most of the game, having only a limited number of days before the next threat has to be addressed. In an open-world game which encourages exploration, nothing could make me more frustrated than a timer which limits my ability to fully explore said world. Imagine a timer limiting you in a game such as Skyrim, or any other RPG for that matter. (Persona gets a pass, it works for that game.)

All that being said, if you can handle the harsh difficulty, (which can be adjusted and customized very well) and you enjoy the added difficulty the timer gives, (or you're okay with save scumming or using a walkthrough) the game offers a fine RPG with plenty of memorable characters to meet, monsters to fight, and quests to complete.

I give this one a solid 8/10.

(As a side note, if you enjoy this game, and the other game in this series Wrath of the Righteous, consider supporting the makers, Paizo, by trying out the tabletop game as well. It's very fun, very inclusive, and I've enjoyed playing it as both a player and a Dungeon Master for many years.)

All of the most charming parts of Recettear and your favorite roguelike dungeon crawler.

This game will keep you dungeon diving again and again.
