I am a PC-gamer-only since the late 90's. This game looks amazing and im sure I will have fun with it. But I am giving this an automatic thumbs down due to the fact that the game is locked on steam in 180 regions in the world. Some people say that those regions don't matter, but as a player from western europe I know for a fact that just a few countries like Morrocos, Algiers and Egypt have massive gaming communities judging by when I play CS2 and those players are everywhere in EU servers. PC is a platform that prides itself of being for everyone, anywhere. So is Valve. You can create a steam account in Antartida as long as you have internet conection, and even if you lose that conection you can play most single-player games in offline mode. So this is not a good step foward when it comes for PC gaming, in fact it is several steps back.

I will write a review about the game when I actually finnish it, but this will remain a thumbs down on my end no matter how good the game is, unless Sony Playstation studios reverses course on their policy on PC (Steam).

Sony got so much heat with Hell divers you would think they would learn a bit

@wasabi so you gonna carry that energy towards all regionlocks? Cause then you'd be having to boycott every triple A company and it was also revealed that the devs had a part to play not just sony and sony had a done the blunder of not locking before release due to in process of changing ceos which is super common given it happens with literally every other big game company

Haha nice one mate, I was also a PC gamer from the 90's. They really were the glory days, Quake, Unreal, Half-Life. It was just banger after banger, with developers wanting to take risks and try new things all the time.

Funny you say that, I swapped between console and PC after the N64 came out since I had so many friends playing it and I noticed if I ever was on one more it would impact my performance on the other.

It can be hard when it comes to muscle memory , I have a controller for specific games on PC and now have gotten way too used to it. So much so that it's affected how I play FPS games with K&M.

It might also have to do with lower reflex reaction time with age but I think I may need to brush up and improve that muscle memory with some of those classics.

Good to hear you grew up in the golden age as well mate, those were the best days for gaming imo.

Yeah I was a PC guy since my parents bought me one in like 97 or something, all I played was DOOM, Quake then Unreal Tournament and lots of Championship Mangager that is now known as Football Manager, so I never i got into the console thing I guess. I mean I had a Family Game with Duck Hunt and Mario at one point lmao. I did play lots of arcades tho. I think if im being honest, the reason why even later I never bought a console other than playing all my games on PC was the fact that my muscle memory is 110% M/K so I can't play any game on a controller. I'm that weird guy that even played FIFA games on keyboard xDDD

I mean heck, this will say everything about me: I'm a arrow key player I can't play WASD :deserteagle: - Quake and UT99 moment. That's why in my screenshots if you see the positioning of my keyboard facing the middle monitor looks weird as hell for most people. Most assume im playing on my left monitor :srcskull:

No worries at all mate, I can't believe what timing you had with making that account :laughing_yeti:

I have had a PSN account since 2006 when I got my PS3. Really disappointed to see what's happened with it at all and how Sony are nowdays.

I don't think there will be any danger of them pulling access from those regions to those that already have Helldivers 2 but then again Sony only made a statement that they wouldn't be going ahead with the PSN requirement for May but the requirement for PSN is still on the store page and those countries are still locked out from buying it.

If they decide to just delay the requirement once the dust settles, then those countries could be potentially be locked out of access altogether in the future due to not having PSN in their region.

I really hope that doesn't happen and that they allow for those regions to buy their games moving forward.

Thanks for the clarification Wasabi, it is as I thought. I was "there" for the whole Helldivers thing since I was actually playing the game and I know what happened and what went wrong specially with all those copies sold to "non psn" countries. I had created a PSN by "accident" a couple weeks before to grab a couple cosmetics for HFW and even kinda laughed at my timing after this happened. In any case, geez, if they decide to delist even all the previous tittles launched that would be an insane decision. I will not be affected but I sympathise with the HUGE communities that don't have PSN access. It's really a lot of people... thousands and thousands and it's a shame that some people think they are just a "few" PC gamers.

I'm not sure where @Jacosm is getting his information from but I looked through steamdb and confirmed that older Sony PC titles (like Horizon, Last of Us) have not been region locked and can still unlock the game provided they have a key as well which is not the case with Tsushima.

No worries mate, doubt Last of Us will get locked since it is not getting a multiplayer mode. They were going to do a standalone one instead but that got scrapped but I wouldn't put it past them to just automatically region lock all future titles for "transparency" sake moving forward.

Good on you for making a stand on it mate since nothing will change if people don't.
