While there's a few rough edges regarding geometry, performance and balance is a little iffy, Deep Rock Galactic shows some incredible core design and it oozes personality at every corner. Sound design is absolutely top notch and the voice acting manages to be funny and convey personality without falling into the trap of being 'haha quirky self-aware and self-referential xD' all the time, and there's some incredible art direction, ranging from diverse biomes that can go from being close to underground marshes to lush forests and then back to the grimy industrial visuals of the Space Rig.
I'd argue it's even worth it to just play solo for your first few hours, being that it's actually a really satisfying experience even then. Plus, DLC is purely and only cosmetic and optional.
