Finally 100% the steam achievements, and I can honestly say this might be my game of the decade.

What makes me love this game the most is the voice acting, and it gets even more incredible once you see the cast. At least half of them have more than one voice (one doing upwards of 6, Logan Cunningham is a voice acting god), and I would have never noticed if it wasn't for the credits. Also, with 55 hours on the switch, and 83 on steam, I have hardly heard any repeating voice lines, and that alone is a feat, but with how top notch it all is makes it that much more unique.

Then there is the gameplay. Somehow it takes a highly repetitive game, and actually keeps you engaged. Typically, these kind of roguelikes start to lose me if the game is too repetitive with not much change, but this one manages to do it. The build crafting has a lot of depth to it, and the actual gameplay is very satisfying to perfect.

The difficulty scaling is also brilliant. Early on, it is a punishing game that you start to learn, making it farther and farther each time, while unlocking more permanent powers to help you try and escape, giving you more and more of a fighting chance. As you get better and the base difficulty is not that much of a challenge, you can scale the difficulty with your skill, making it slowly harder and harder for yourself while you get better and better at the game, making you want to push for new heights and see how good you can get. The difficulty slider is also way better than most games difficulties, most games just increase the health and damage of enemies. While those are options, there are also a plethora of other options, potentially making each run a little more unique of a challenge.

I could go on all day about how much I love this game, and will recommend it to everyone, not just people looking for a roguelike. The story sometimes makes it not even feel like a roguelike. Even failures push the story forward, and after almost 100 runs, I am still finding more and more dialogue with the NPCs in the House of Hades.

Thank you, Supergiant Games for this masterpiece.
