First of all, I want to start by saying that this game has a very steep learning curve. With that being said, taking the time to learn and become better at this game is absolutely worth it. This game is a masterpiece. Playing it brings me back to the days where all I used to play was minecraft, and there are many reasons for that.

First, the difficulty this game brings to the table is near flawless. The game has a wide variety of enemies, mobs, and environmental dangers that always keep you on your toes. Eating certain foods can be a very negative impact in your survivability, and sometimes the smallest action can cost you your life. There are so many different aspects of the game that take time to learn and understand, and until you do it's always tense trying to survive in the harsh world this game brings to the table, known as the Constant. Next thing you know, the season has changed and now you have to deal with the harsh climate on top of everything else that is being thrown at you, whether that's freezing, intense rain, or heat waves and forest fires that are wild and unpredictable.

With the dangers out of the way, part of the fun that comes from this game is discovering and learning ways to handle these rough conditions. Learning how to make proper gear to prepare for certain situations, whether that's armor for protection from enemies, or environmental gear, such as a winter hat to endure the cold, or an Umbrella hat to protect yourself from the rain. The game has many different aspects, but none of them are impossible to withstand. The game does a fantastic job of putting you in a situation where it is a genuine struggle to survive, while not being impossible, and allowing you to learn and become better so you have less of a difficult time enduring those situations. That's one of the issues that I had with Minecraft, is that after you learn everything, it becomes too easy. This game is different. You could know everything about this game, in and out, and you will still have to focus and strategize on how to find food, or prepare for a boss and/or event.

This brings me to my next point, which is how diverse this game is. There are so many little hidden details in this game, the replayability is incredible. No matter how much you play, you will always learn something new. It keeps the game fresh, and this is something that a lot of other games lack. Even today, I continue to discover new mechanics, or aspects of how things work, even though i've played it for as long as I have. This makes it so you don't get bored, and I say it does a great job.

Another thing worth mention is the art style of the game. I am in love with the art style of this game, and I wish there were more games as unique as this one. Every enemy, every creature, every biome, everything looks and feels so alive and vibrant, and as you play you will continue to experience that feeling of discovering someplace or something new for the first time and seeing how incredible it is. Whether you are braving the caves for the first time, or testing your sailing abilities and discovering the Lunar Island, there are plenty of beautiful, diverse biomes that all serve their own purpose in your own survival and benefit.

This game is very fun when you play solo, but it truly shines its brightest when you bring your friends along. Hence the name, "Don't Starve Together", bringing friends to play with, or joining a public server is practically a must. Allowing you to branch off with friends and do multiple tasks at once is great for being productive and getting things done, but you also must keep in mind that the more players you have, the more food you need to find. The game does a great job of balancing having more players, without even really having to change or scale anything based on the amount of players you have. It allows some people to find or hunt food, while other people work on exploration or base building, while other people can go out and gather materials. No matter what the tasks are, having a team will help you get it done.

In conclusion, I recommend you start out playing solo, to learn how to find food on your own, as well as learning other crucial elements, such as preparing a base and making yourself plenty of gear to endure whatever comes next. No matter how far you get, there will always be obstacles and challenges, and learning to face them is a great way to climb the hurdle of learning this game. Once you play with friends, food management will be much easier and you will get a lot more done.

With all of that being said, this is my absolute favorite game. Nothing has ever drawn me and kept me in and compelled me to get better as much as this game has, and i'm with it the whole way. The people who make this game absolutely love their project, and they update it very frequently with plenty of new content that almost never misses. Klei, thank you for making such a fantastic game.

Not to mention, this game is still getting tons of updates regularly, which constantly add new content, characters, and character refreshes. Talk about a passionate team!
