Update after 0.5:
The strides the team have been making on the visuals have been astounding. I was hesitant about the decision to give up on creep camps in 1v1, but the Stormgate mechanics have been surprisingly fun. I'm still rooting for this game and the last two updates have given me a lot of confidence they can get this thing across the finish line.

---------

Excellent start for a bright new RTS! Been following the game since the earliest closed beta, and with each update the game has taken massive strides forward. While there are definitely parts of the game that are still in the works, Stormgate has a *really* solid foundation to build on.

Rollback netcode and the snowplay technical layer have really payed off in a big way. I've never had such a smooth experience playing an RTS from my home here in Alaska. And this is before optimization passes that usually come near the end of a games development cycle!

Each faction is really engaging to play, and more unique then the original aesthetics lead some to believe. People are quick to call Vanguard, Infernal, and Celestial just a repackaging of Terran, Zerg, and Protoss, but that couldn't be further from the truth.

Excited to see where this project goes in the future. Hope to see you all on the ladder!

Easily the best autobattler on the market.

Game rewards entering a match with an overall strategy. High focus on precise unit placement, reading your opponents, and long term planning.

Minimizes randomness in a way that most autobattlers struggle to, while still maintaining the ability for the game to spin up into wild gamestates that keeps each game unique.

I first tried, and wanted to love, this game back at launch. The games core design ideas were fantastic, but it was held back by an abysmal online experience that left you with nothing to do after beating the admittedly short campaign.

Luckily, the game now has dedicated servers, and the difference is night and day. And that wasn't the only change for the better. The progression system has been made very fair and rewarding, the combat was adjusted this year to favor more aggressive/read based play, and there are just so so many more characters to choose from.

This game takes all the rewarding mind games and interactive play from fighting games, and puts it in a package that is welcoming to newcomers. Best of all, you don't have to play it alone like you would traditional fighting games. Team play in For Honor makes game modes like Dominion the main way players play the game, and in so doing creates a great game to boot up and play with 3 friends.

I'm so glad I gave this game a second chance.

With the Gathering Storm expansion, I think I can finally say that this game is as good as V.
