Unturned is more than an average game that you're going to experience in your daily boring life.
You can play it easy on PvE servers, make a base, get high tier loot, etc
Or you can go PvP and test your skills, or even a step further with 'Creative' which is challenging for some.

If you're not into the game itself, you can create a map or a server and sit back, enjoy and update your creation and get credit for it.
You can even choose to "gamble" with the game's special currency, skins.

In my opinion, you should start off with the tutorial, upgrade your survival skills on PvE, then have a go at PvP with friends. It's more fun with friends!
When you're done with that, and have mastered the game and all it's achievements, seek a good server and apply for a rank, eg. Moderator, then go ahead and create your own server, map, skins, guns, etc..

Had a good share of the game, too much that it's almost pointless to play now. I still do. Why? I have no life..
College student now playing a game like Rust with Roblox graphics; feels wrong man, considering I'm mentally evolved now. Hence, I will re-review the game, truly this time:

Unturned is a 7/10 game.
You spawn naked, you find the nearest town/loot spawns, you hoard and hoard and hoard too much you can't carry you'll be forced to build a base. You do, you enjoy that, spill some creativity in the process, attract other server douches, team up, raid other players, REPEAT. You explore other servers, hungry to try out different modes, difficulties, modded servers, admins, bugs, glitches, power hungry all the time... considering the game is designed to make you feel like that (that is because you don't actually feel the survival aspect anymore) or simply because you did it a-little-more-than-meant-to times.. Item after item looted, countless zombies killed, continents of newbs and kids tormented and abused and rapped (I mean.. don't judge me now).. Miles and miles driven, flew, swam, ran, trained (choo choo trained), boated, chased, got chased.. TONNES, and yes tonnes of chemicals and other LSD products consumed, yet you're still capable of building a 5 storey complex that houses 32 cars, 15 people, holds 25,534 guns. You're an architect, you're a killer, you're a zombie slayer, you're a four leaved clover, you're high asFux ingame and irl, you're a tank, you're a zombie, you're addicted, fam. You KEEP PLAYING, for hours and hours you parents are worried now that you've been playing for too long, they send you to a therapist. That therapist.. PLAYS UNTURNED TOO!! You play together (as part of the therapy) and he charges you for that. You pay him, because ♥♥♥♥♥ you already paid $49.76 for some white fedora that emits hearts.
Few months later you cry every night for all the times you rapped these kids, all the money spent, all the time you lost, all the skins you gathered, all the autism you gained.. Jesus dude, you need LSD
