What can I say about Baldur's Gate III that hasn't already been said?

This game is amazing. It's already won GOTY awards and will probably win more. I called it as my GOTY the first time I played it. Ironically I owned the game in EA for a long time but didn't play until release. I'm glad I waited for the full package, but I didn't know what I was missing prior to that.

I was around when the first BG game released on PC back in the 90's. It had its hooks in me immediately, and Larian delivered that same feeling to me again, nearly 30 years later. I was obsessed with BG and it's expansions, sequel and other games made by similar teams during that era.

Later when some companies tried to capitalize on nostalgia and bring a new era of this style of game around (Think Pillars of Eternity) I was not hooked in the same fashion. I didn't want more of the same with new graphics. I wanted something new, and Baldur's Gate III manages to scratch that familiar itch while still feeling like a new game in the process. I haven't been this hooked on an RPG since probably the original Dragon Age, and if you loved that game like I did, you'll love this one even more.

So much to do. So much to miss. So many choices. I've only finished one playthrough of the game and I'm already thinking of new party compositions, multiplayer with friends, a dark urge campaign, different decisions to make.

This game felt tailor made for me, and if you are of a similar age with similar experiences, you too will absolutely love this title.

10/10. Will fill my brain with tadpoles again.

New notation: Even a couple years on, we're about to recieve even more new content next year with cross-play and more subclasses. This game is amazing!
