LOVING every second of this beutiful Remaster. Fans of the originals will love these. Also a wonderful jumping in point for new fans of one of the best JRPG franchises of its time. True classics.

Alright, so the Suikoden I & II HD Remaster is finally here, and honestly? It's pretty sweet, whether you're a die-hard fan or totally new to the series. Think of it as getting two classic adventure games in one, all spiffed up for modern consoles.


If you're a long-time fan, it's like slipping into your comfiest old shoes, but they've had a bit of a glow-up. The stories? Still amazing, still gonna make you care way too much about a bunch of pixelated folks. Visually, things look a lot cleaner, especially the backgrounds. The music and sound effects? They've been touched up too, so battles sound punchier. And the little tweaks they've added? Lifesavers! Auto-save is a godsend, speeding up battles is clutch, and finally, a run button in the first game from the get-go!


Never heard of Suikoden before? No worries! These are old-school Japanese RPGs (JRPGs), which means you'll be exploring towns, chatting with quirky characters, and battling monsters in turn-based fights. The big deal? Epic stories (especially Suikoden II!), a ridiculous number of characters to recruit (over 100 in each!), and building up your own awesome headquarters. You've got regular battles, one-on-one duels, and even big army clashes to keep things interesting. This remaster makes it easier to jump in with cleaner visuals and helpful additions like auto-save and battle fast-forward.


Now, it's not perfect perfect. Sometimes the super sharp backgrounds make the old-school character sprites look a little... well, old-school. And some of the old game mechanics can feel a bit clunky if you're used to modern stuff. Also, speeding up the music in battles can sound a bit weird. For new players, just remember these games are from the 90s, so things like limited inventory in the first game and less hand-holding are part of the charm (or frustration, depending on how you look at it!).


Whether you're looking to relive some classic JRPG goodness or you're curious about diving into a beloved series for the first time, the Suikoden I & II HD Remaster is a solid way to do it. The stories are fantastic, the character recruitment is addictive, and the quality-of-life improvements make the experience much smoother. Just be prepared for a bit of retro flavor, and you might just discover why these games are so fondly remembered. Especially Suikoden II (seriously, don't miss that one!) Just get ready to sink a bunch of hours into building your castle and getting way too attached to your pixelated pals.

I played the Originals over 20 years ago, so i think its safe to say i went in to this with high expectations... and fear if they somehow screwed up a game that honestly means so much to me and defined my childhood and set a standard for all JRPGs in the future, Needless to say i expected perfection and to do that they could touch the graphics and leave the heart and soul of the game.

well im happy to say Konami nailed this both games look stunning, yeah i know they arent using current gen graphics, but the updated look works so well and feels natural , The story is as it always was fun quirky and just a joy to take part in and i was in tears LITERALLY multiple times during my playthrough of both games this is a game release that has built up so much emotion for me and in a world where there are ever more stressful times and were dealing with ever so many ... meh games this was a Shining port in a sea of crap that i no doubt will come back to time and time again like i did with the orginals.

Thank you Konami youve knocked this out of the park .... now bring back Suikoden full force and i can die happy xD
