As one of the few people to own an AMD GPU (RX6800) I can say, this runs decent in 4K on a mix of medium/high settings with FSR Native AA (no upscaling). I'm getting constant 60-70fps.

I'm not super far into the game, but it feels very much like World (good) and nothing like Rise (good, too, never gotten the hang of Rise).

After a couple more hours I cannot really understand how people feel that Wilds is too easy. For me, it's on the same level as World. Easier than Iceborne but I'm very sure that the Wilds DLC will fix that.

If you liked SPAZ, this is a must-buy. If you like Starsector, this is a maybe-buy. It's a lot of fun early on. There isn't much going on endgame-wise. You have to create challenges on your own by trying out different starts and play styles. And maybe revisit the game after a year or some, once a couple of updates have dropped.

I liked Everspace 1 very much. It was a refreshing iteration on the currently super-popular Rogue-Lite Genre in a space setting. A setting that doesn't see much love and often fails to deliver.

Everspace 2 takes goes one step back and uses the same setting to create a pretty classic Space Opera. Everything is here: the trading, the fighting, the story. While trading is pretty basic, it still useful to make a fortune without any big risk. The story is good enough to not complain. Fighting is where the game shines. With a lot of different weapons and ships to chose from, you will absolutely find a setup that fits your play style.

Graphics are nice, sounds effects are fine. Voices are ok, with some terrible exceptions.

Still, I prefer the original Everspace over its successor. The reason is that Everspace 2 fails to deliver an actual meaningful challenge. For experienced players, even the hardest difficulties will feel a bit lacking. Everspace 1 had these "oh crap" moments where all you could hope for was some RNG kindness. Everspace 2 may lead you into a trap every now and then, but since you can simply restart at the generously common checkpoints, you're never set back much.

Still, if you're interested in Space Operas, give Everspace 2 a chance. It absolutely worth its price, even more when it's on sale.

Mixed bag here: The rogue-like gameplay is solid, the graphics are charming and it's one of the few games where I didn't turn the music off (I get annoyed by background music quite often). But the base-building part of the game is pretty meaningless. Struggling with resources at first it started promising. However, as you unlock more buildings, you realize that no important mechanics are being introduced after the first few unlocks. Being a huge base-building fan myself, I expected more.

I finished the game, that is I beat the story boss. There is some postgame content, but I'm probably going to skip this. All in all, the game is good for 15 hours of fun, which absolutely justifies a recommendation, but it cannot compete with other similar independent gems.

What seems to be a good game is rather shallow under the hood. The setting is great and from a technical point of view the game more or less flawless. However, everything boils down to a bit of number crunching. Will you have enough coal to keep the generator running? Can you afford more refugees? All that matters is a bit of resource management. Unless you're struggling with basic maths, there will not be a challenge here.

I struggled with the ASCII version for so many years. Now I have graphics and mouse control and I finally can actually play. Already had *Fun* in the first two hours. Awesome.

Early Access Review
It looks like an RTS but really isn't one. It's a bit like the Settlers or the Anno series where your goal is to keep your settlers happy. But you will only spend a few hours on a map to finish it and then move on to a new, random map, with a random "tech tree" and a flexible time limit (the Queen's impatience).

The first ten hours were really fun. Now I think I unlocked all important game mechanics (such a trade routes etc.) and I feel that the fun curve is a bit flattening.

Still very recommended, unless you expect any form of combat. There really isn't such thing in this game.

As usual, the DLC was released in an unfinished state, hence the bad reviews. Now it rocks. Grab it.

After a bazillion of updates, this is a strong buy. It's actually weird to remember how bad it was when it was released.
