Early Access Review
Aside from the day 1 launch server issues, which no publisher/developer has ever got right even those w/ years of experience (heres looking at you Blizzard), the game is a blast to play. After spending several hours in the game I'm highly satisfied with my purchase and can't wait for the continuing development of this game.

First off game is indeed in need of some optimization, but thats no surprise its an EA title, let alone one of the first UE4 games out to date. That part of the problem though is people are expecting their piss ant gtx750s, 7770s, etc to run this at max. Sry your ♥♥♥♥ is dated, its not going to run truly next gen games at max either deal with having to lower settings or upgrade. I've seen idiots ♥♥♥♥♥ b/c they have 2 770s and can't max it, when it was stated already that UE4 engine doesn't support sli in dx11, it will be available once dx12 arrives later this summer. However my 970 can run it on high settings w/ aa and post processing at medium and get a stdy 30-35fps. I could tweak the settings a bit further and still have a great looking game at 60fps, but since I'm not having any dips below 30 I'll keep it on the higher settings. The devs have already stated that to max this game one would need a 980 or better w/ a cpu that won't bottleneck.

So with that rant out of the way lets talk gameplay. The gameplay is really engaging and fun. Most fun I've had in a survival game and I've played Dayz, Rust, and the likes. This game is leaps and bounds ahead of those, imo. The map is quite large and is brimming with life. Some of that life will try to kill you, whether its one big dino like a T-Rex or a small pack of raptors. There is danger around but one can survive. Its also fun to watch the wildlife interact with each other seeing a pack of Triceretops fighting off a pack of predators or the classic battle of a Tri vs T-rex. The gathering is smooth and straight forward. The crafting is easy to understand and learn, though there are some balance issues in mats required for some of the important items. Such as a 1time use sleeping bag(allows you to have a spawn point if you die) which requires a bit to much hide resource considering where you have to get it from mixed with it being a 1 time use. The bed while being a permanent and unlimted use spawn point still feel the hide required for it is also high as you'll likely die trying to get the ingredients. However maybe its b/c I'm playing a bit to much like DayZ and Rust where you go it solo, where in this game its clear one can go solo, but its much more beneficial in so many aspects to team up and form a tribe whether just a few people or an army.

One of the coolest aspect of the game that I experienced was the taming of the wildlife, and trying to decide in the split second do you try to tame or kill the damn thing and not risk dieing. It was fun having my own stegosaurus for a pack muel follwing me around and protecting me if a predator attacked didn't get to ride it as I had not unlocked the saddle for it). I wanted to try out farming but didn't get that far either.

In the end, as I'm going to wrap up here or I could go on and on, this game already has a solid foundation and is this much fun, I can't wait to see how much more fun it becomes as they iron out the bugs, the annoying littel glitches that can happen, flesh out the core mechanics, and get in a bit more optimization and dx12 implementation.

*Side note: I won't say all the negative reviews are bs, as each person is entitled to their opinion, but most of these negative reviews aren't of the game but more of the experience they had with a day 1 launch of an EA title at that. Most are just whiny entitled brats who rushed to buy the game minute it released and expected it to be perfect which no game full release or EA ever happens, and theres been much worse full on Triple AAA titles that released in far worse states than this.
