Early Access Review
EDIT: I've edited my review and shortened it so I can add a reply to the dev. At the top is the original (shortened) review.

This game has shown no improvement since its 2022 release and doesn't deserve its 'mostly positive' reviews.

It suffers from overly ambitious design that doesn't align with what the dev can realistically deliver. Despite a large map and several systems like a Tarkov-esque health system, they don't come together cohesively.

The game lacks polish, cohesion, and content. The dev keeps adding new systems without refining or integrating them properly.

It's barely a survival game, with empty, illogical maps, broken loot systems, and an overwhelming amount of items that don’t function as intended.

The map is mostly empty space with poorly designed interiors and random obstacles. Combat is simplistic, with zombies offering little challenge and guns being largely useless compared to melee weapons.

The graphics are poor, using a low-poly style with badly implemented lighting that hampers performance. Sound design is unbalanced and low quality, with irritating ambient noises.

The game relies heavily on pre-made assets with no sign of a unique vision or improvements, making it feel lazy and uninspired.

Overall, this is a poorly constructed game that I wouldn’t recommend, even if it were free, as it shows little sign of progress or improvement.

Reply to the dev:

Using premade assets is not inherently problematic, but in this game, they feel like placeholders that don't fit. Early Access should showcase a minimally viable product that provides a playable, albeit incomplete, experience. This game is not playable, just incomplete. The point about it being made in unity was just a guess. The engine ultimately doesn't matter.

The game lacks a functioning survival gameplay loop, primarily around loot spawning. Loot spawns illogically and there is too much bloat, including a an excessive number of useless items, base building components, guns, and vehicles, which all fail to come together to make something fun.

Development appears to prioritize quantity over quality, focusing on adding assets and features rather than fixing foundational issues. Advanced mechanics like a Tarkov-style limb health system feel out of place given the current state of the game.

The focus should shift to refining core systems and building a cohesive gameplay experience before adding new content. Reducing content bloat—such as cutting unnecessary guns, vehicles, and map size—would allow more attention to the game's essential mechanics.

Polished, functional systems are far more important than the originality of assets or the quantity of features. A cohesive, playable survival game should be the priority before expanding with new content and improved graphics. It doesn't matter if some, half, or all of the models in this game are totally unique of the game itself doesn't play well.

This game is amazing at inducing anxiety and fear. Seeing tracers fly past you as your commander screams, "OVEER! HE'S LOOKING AT US! SHOOOOOT!" as you can hear his voice breaking from the stress...

It's an experience unlike any other ground combat game ever made. Now, don't get me wrong. At the time of writing this; this game is basically just a fancy tech demo. However, it's a damn good tech demo. I think this game has some real potential. Pick this bad boy up and feel it out for yourself.

It's lackluster at best. Has the promise to be a fantastic game, but there's far too much micro. The friendly AI is incapable of helping you out at all and is incredibly stupid. The enemy AI is incredibly easy to beat. There are better games.

Fun game, but the levels feel a little same-y. There's not much here. Controlling squadmates sucks, too. Wish they just had actual AI.

I like it, but recommend it only a little.

I played this game for 16 hours in one sitting. It's only a little addicting.

Despite meeting minimum specs I can't run this game on the lowest settings. It has incredibly bad input lag on my computer.

Also, reading other reviews, you seriously expect people to be okay with being forced to play the game lest they lose all their progress? I'm refunding this heap of garbage. What a shame, this looked promising.

Make this game not run like ♥♥♥♥, then we'll talk. Also, your AI is terrible.

This game takes some getting used to. I originally thought it was real bad until I figured out its quirks. I can comfortably say this game is fun, and unique. For a space builder it has a lot of freedom - which is great. I love that I can build all size and manner of ships and I love that I can even build stations. But unfortunately there doesn't seem to be a lot there to do with that freedom. Sure, you can build a station. But why would you? You often aren't going to be revisiting old systems, and they can't be autonomous. Sure, you can build little drones for your hangar.. but why would you, they can't be autonomous.

I also hate the arbitrary limitation on ship size and the amount of mounts you can have on one ship. I understand why, for balance purposes, especially for public multiplayer, you need to have some sort of limitation.

But add a toggle for my singleplayer or private multiplayer game that removes it. I don't want to be forced to play creative mode in order to make a ship which feels like mine and does what I want to do.

Also, some ability to automate your ships would be extremely welcome. It would open up a ton of possibilities for creativity and ease of progression if you could, say, create a fleet to follow you around.. or even better, build a space station, fill its hangars with ships.. and then give the station and ships instructions... imagine being able to build a station in an asteroid field (they would need to be made to replenish every so often which would also be a good change), give it some mining drones, instruct them to look for a certain material and mine it for the station.. which would then craft based on crafting orders you give it. It'd be great to get rid of that mindless grinding for materials when you're at the point that you should be above doing that. Also, the fact that you have to sit and have the crafting menu open in order to craft any materials and can't just have it idly in the background.. and can't queue up crafting orders either... real sucky.

TL;DR It's good - but early access definitely shows. It needs some work.

I got this game and spent four and a half hours flying around looking at everything there was to see. I was so mind-boggled and entranced by the experience of this game's magnificence that I was engaged the whole time. It offers a glimpse into our universe. It's like a dream. Every new system visited I felt like I never wanted to leave.

I saw beautiful auroras, strange multi-colored gas giants, atmospheres which neatly split into several layers of different colors, galaxies colliding. The most beautiful thing I saw was on the surface of a small moon with a purple-hued atmosphere. It was orbiting a huge blue gas giant which glowed a vibrant pink through the skies of this foreign place when it was in the sun. It was so bright that the planet had two horizons. One for the sun, and one for the gas giant's reflected light.

Space is scary. The sheer magnitude of it is incomprehensibly vast, and incomprehensibly empty. But space is also beautiful. I would leave everything behind if I was offered a chance to travel the stars and see them up close.

Easily worth 30 dollars. If you like space as much as I do -- then this game has the potential to provide endlessly to you. There is so much to explore here -- once you leave the proximity of our solar system you will be seeing things that not a single person has ever observed before. Once you leave our galaxy you can be sure of it.
