I don't know what the developers were thinking. On some respsects, I can understand the desire to switch things up to keep the franchise fresh, but at the same time, the new gameplay mechanics only serve to waste our time. We play these games for the stories, not the puzzles and platforming.

Speaking of stories, good lord. I literally haven't even finished this game and I already hate all the characters. I literally just want them all to die. So unlikable. Combine that with the forced and shoehorned romances and utterly clueless people.

They missed the mark with this one, which is an absolute shame, because I truly love all the other Dark Pictures...

Yeah, it only got worse.

Just finished the game. About 1/3rd of the way through I had already checked-out.
About 2/3rds of the way, both myself and my partnert were just finding ourselves asking "is it over yet?"

Feels like we only hammered through to the end just because we'd already invested a couple hours and just wanted it over with.

Couldn't even wait for the credits to roll. Straight up ALT+F4'd when the dummies starting singing.

Man I just hope they realise what a flop this one is and stick to the formula that worked for the last three titles with Season 2. They have a lot of promise, and I hope this one failure won't be a sign of things to come.

I mostly play just for the social aspects, so I can't comment on the VRC game worlds other than: there are plenty of them to try out.

Generally pretty difficult browsing public worlds and filtering out all the underage kids and annoying people. But once you've found a group you can vibe with, it's truly a blessing.

If you've got your own friends to chill with, it's a lot easier to get into together than alone.

An easy recommend for friend groups, and a cautious recommend for people delving in solo.

Campaign ain't much to talk about, but the gameplay and implementation of DnD ruleset is strong. Plenty of Workshop content to keep you sated as well.

Solid experience. Easy recommend for anyone who wants to scratch that DnD itch.

Wish there was a "meh" button. After 100 hours in the game and having completed an ending, I can't help but feel my experience has just so aggressively average. The game has a lot of high points, but the low points make for a very middle-of-the-road experience.

It's good, yeah. If you like music, you like this game too.
