Is it scary? No. Is it creepy? Kinda. Is the shooting fun?

I don't know what it is about the shooting, but it just feels so visceral. Especially during bullet-time, every shot has weight. The guns are loud and impactful- something I feel is missing from lot of games these days. The enemies flinch and react to your shooting, and they don't just slump over dead- they die screaming, exploding, firing off a last gasp of bullets in their death-throes. It's not a wacky-fun ride like Bulletstorm tries to be, but the shooting has enough of an impact to keep the game fun.

The level design deserves a special mention. It's nothing beautiful, but it's very open ended. There are multiple paths and hidden secrets filled with goodies for the scavenging. It rewards exploration. This allows allows enemies to be very, very smart.

I don't know why, but the AI in this game feels fantastic. They actually work together as a team, having some units flush you out with grenades while others wait for you to react, or have a single individual rush your position, forcing you to move. They often try to flank you by going around the non-linear paths, and have a good bit of variety to them.

If you want a horror game, don't buy this one. It's not horror. It's a shooter that sometimes puts on a haloween mask and goes "boo." If you want an unapologetic shooter filled with violence and hard, satisfying guns, pick this one up.

(Also there's a generic framerate issue you can fix by disabling all HID-compliant devices in your device manager. It's an issue with logitech.)

I love this game. I really do. I've called it 4-swords the mmorpg, because that's what the gameplay feels like. The variety of weapons is fun, and I like how your character doesn't level up- it's all in the gear. The visuals are beautiful and it's not the dreaded "standard fantasy world" setting that so many mmorpgs fall into. the music, too, is fun, and the game presents a decent challenge.

However, this game has gone downhill. The grind for items is downright awful, and the economy is tanking fast. The playbase is dwindling, and the devs clearly do not care about this game anymore. I wish it was different, because this game was so fantastic and so fun, but the extreme amounts of grinding on repetitive levels has killed all the fun. With a heavy heart I cannot recommend this game.

This game had some of the best combat in any hack-n-slash that I've seen, which is par for the course in this series I'd say. The huge number of enemy types force you to adapt your strategy in new ways, which is great to shake things up, as some enemies can't be beaten just by running up to their face and mashing attack. The stages look fantastic, as they're all warped, colorful, and dynamic, which is a godsend in this age of "Gray-Brown: The Shooter." The upgrade system is token at best, but it seems every game has a token upgrade system these days. The issue is it's a bit short, but there's probably a good bit of replayability with the scores of difficulty modes.

Of course, the elephant in the closet is that Dante does not have white hair. If this seriously is a problem for you, grow up. If you can't handle the fact that he's different in this game, then you're honestly a child who needs to leave their comfort zone. This Dante is scores better than Nero, and he is not "emo" in the slightest. Yes, he mopes at one point in the game, but considering what happened, I'd be worried if he didn't get depressed. A character showing sadness is not a bad thing, it's a character trait, but in this age of "MANLY MEN" doing "MANLY THINGS," I guess showing any emotional weakness is a flaw.

Apologies for the rant, but it's kind of a sore spot for me. The idea that people don't play this fantastic game just because Dante doesn't have white hair is downright retarded.

It's free and cute, and in fact so cute that you'll probably develop terminal diabeetus, but it's hardly challenging to veteran MMORPG players. The classes are interesting and the multiclass feature actually brings a lot of potential for customization. Being a City of Heroes refugee, customization is a huge deal for me, and this game does allow that. You can get great-looking cosmetics at low level, the multiclassing is interesting, and there are even some unique talents only accessible to certain multiclasses. The main problem is that it's streamlined to a fault. Clicking on quest text will have your character walk right to the required spot, though this is hardly necesary because the map is zoned and each zone is rather small. Even as a healer I never had a problem defeating enemies, and the dungeons seem bland, but by no means bad.

The reason I recommend this game is for people who are new to or uncomfortable with MMORPGS. This is a great place to start, as it introduces you to the concepts gently instead of tossing you in and assuming you know how to play.

It's great if you like not making progress. The main flaw of this game is that it takes forever to make even a tiny bit of progress, not because the dungeons are annoyingly long (which they are), not because the plot is a "go fix this new broken thing" plot (which it is), but because the game is padded so heavily you could use the case as a flak jacket.

The combat is alright but the tiresome process of getting new loot every five seconds bogs the game down even more, and there's a 90% chance the gear you find is gonna be terrible anyway. It's a bit Bayonetta-esque with some attacks summoning giant hands or weapons to smack your foes with, but unlike Bayonetta, the game is hardly challenging and there's not as much impact upon finishing a combo.

Honestly, I could have dealt with all of the above, but the final straw for me was about halfway through (I assume.) In short, I had to talk to this dude, but he wouldn't let me until I killed this thing. So I went to go kill the thing, but I couldn't kill the thing until I got three other things. So I got the three other things and killed the thing, but when I went to talk to that dude he was like, "Nah bruh, I ain't even gonna talk to you until you find my three home-boys in these three grindy dungeons which will also probably make you have to find three things before you can get to them."

So in short, it's bland, padded, and forgettable. The problem is that it's not even a bad game, it's just tedious.

This is the breath of fresh air that the Assassin's Creed series needed. I wasn't able to finish Revelations because I had gotten so bored of Ezio and the standard gimmicks. Honestly, this game is better as a pirate game than an assassin game. Going around and raiding feels fantastic, and controlling your ship has satisfying weight to it. The game only gets boring when it becomes an Assassin's Creed game again, but that's near the very end.

I'm sure this game was good on console back in its day, but this is the epitome of terrible PC ports. You have to input custom configs into the game files just to get the buttons to work with modern controllers (because the keyboard controls are a joke), and even then, you need to get a program like Xpadder to manually map the L and R buttons because the game doesn't recognize them. On top of that, it is poorly optimized and gets random lag spikes for seemingly no reason. Do not buy this game.

It's a neat concept, but far too short and easy. It took a grand total of two hours to beat, and that involved me just ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ around seeing what I could do. Several of the puzzles can be broken and cheated pathetically easily, and the so called "hardest two puzzles" aren't really that challenging. Even then, they derive their challenge not from logic but from awkward gravity manipulation. This game could have been so much more, but it's just too short and too easy. There's not even much of a climax; you finish another random puzzle and boom, you're at the end room. Still, if it's on sale for $5.00 like it was for me, it's worth spending to waste a couple of hours.

Although some people disgree, this game is better than the original. The co-op is a great addition and GLaDOS is more sadistic and sarcastic than ever!
