This is the best written game I've ever played, a literary experience that rivals many great novels. I entered its small world expecting the adolescent sarcasm we often see in games that aim for the aesthetic of maturity. Instead, I was surprised by the melancholic sensibility and humor that actually defines our reality. In Disco Elysium, although in a grotesque fashion, our personal, political and visceral complexities transcend the nihilistic and are worthy of consideration - or at least some contemplation.
