If you liked the Persona games, you'll hate this game. The demons are the exact same from every SMT and Persona game, there are no memorable or interesting characters, and any actual storytelling only exists in the way beginning or way end of the game. This game is just "follow a cryptic hint, kill 10 guys, repeat". Oh yeah and also random encounters because ♥♥♥♥ you.

FromSoftware still refuses to bring the servers back up. Elden Ring is now their only game playable online. Good job killing one of the largest and most dedicated communities in gaming.
Update: after being down for over 6 months (early February - late August 2022), the servers finally came back up. Praise the sun! Now I can finally play this game with my friends and get invaded every 5 minutes by some twink who no-lifes the game.
Still mad that it took them 6 months to bring back a SINGLE one of their games, but it's better than nothing. Thanks Mr. Software

The Pirates of the Caribbean crossover was the most painful experience in my entire life.

As someone who loves isometric RPGs and doesn't mind slow story-heavy games, everything in this game is designed to be tedious. I played Fallout 1 for quite a while and thought the jankiness must have been exclusive to the first game and certainly not the supposed masterpiece that critics say Fallout 2 is, but I cannot get past the tedium that this game offers.
The Steam version of this game runs terribly. I have a 1080, and it still runs at 20fps most times. It is just not made to be played over 20 years later.
In Fallout 1, I seem to remember being able to click anywhere in a zone and your character can walk there (which is useful in traversing merchant cities). In Fallout 2, you are forced to click about 20 feet in front of you every 3 seconds. This is tedious and boring, just like the combat.
Did you screw up in combat, maybe accidentally attack a citizen and want to load your game? Well sucks to be you, because you have to wait until every single enemy finishes their turns before you can access the pause menu to load or exit the game.
I want to like this game, because I love everything about Fallout's core concept. I love action-strategy games with rich stories. But this game (or as far as I'm aware just the Steam version) makes New Vegas seem like a great alternative, which it is.

TLDR game lags, combat sucks, and I contemplated suicide after missing a 49% melee attack six times in a row.

Early Access Review
I have never laughed harder at anything in my life. I proceeded to get in a car with two friends, drive for 3 minutes, throw the doors off while driving, sabotage the driver, and somehow get turned around and end up back at the house. Then we played with the well and I made my character crap his pants for 5 minutes.
Overall hilarious, but as a game it unfortunately fails.

I was not expecting to wholeheartedly enjoy this game as much as I did. From the amazing soundtrack to the laugh-out-loud humor (not even joking) to the real sense of growth in power as you progress, this game will remain near the top of my list for indie games for years. Best of all, you can feel the passion from the creator with every line of dialogue.
If the price is a bit daunting for you, I'd definitely recommend it on sale.
Overall I'd give this game a 8.5/10 - a game I would highly recommend, and I hope to see more from this developer in the future.

Great game full of individual stories that add up to an unforgettable experience. It feels less like a MMO and more like what Skyrim wishes it was - a graphically beautiful game with tons of content and scaled to make it feel like a lived-in world full of interesting characters. Even without any expansions, you get over 20 zones that adds up to somewhere around 300 hours of content. Cannot recommend enough.
