Honestly it's gameplay loop is pretty simple but it is extremely addicting and fun to play.

Only downside is that it crashes semi-frequently and if you forget to save often it can kinda ruin it.

Early Access Review
This game is a real ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ but it's honestly the first turn-based strategy game that has really challenged me and made me excited/nervous for each encounter.

I just beat the second difficulty stage for the first time as of this review and cannot imagine how it will get harder. The boss encounters are daunting and at times feel impossible but when you overcome the endless tide of monsters and come out on top it's a pretty great feeling that other turn-based games have never quite achieved for me.

Something I feel like the game pulls off really well is the feeling of having bad-ass characters. In games like final fantasy tactics your units level up and get cool moves but you never quite feel like your character has become this unstoppable force of brutality. In The Last Spell, however, one of my characters has leveled up to the point where he has a 95% chance to dodge every attack. 95%! It gets better. Not only does he dodge practically everything thrown his way but every time he does he GETS ANOTHER ACTION POINT. The fact that the game lets you spec into so many different things is one thing I really love about it. Other examples would be my long range crit sniper who can hit the entire map, or my tank who takes pretty much no damage and kills anyone who attacks him.

Despite how strong your characters can get the game is by no means easy. Every encounter can be lost just as easily as it can be won if you don't plan properly.

This game is seriously something special but it's only for people who are prepared to crack their knuckles and accept the challenge. I really recommend it.

Inscryption takes the rogue-lite card battler formula and actually gives it a deep compelling story puts this right up there with the best of them.

The card game itself is challenging and steadily introduces new mechanics all the way to the very end.

I won't say much about the story to avoid spoilers. It's great.

This is a fantastic treat for fans of a slowly stagnating genre and people owe it to themselves to play this.

This game has a ridiculous amount of depth to it. It's like a mix of Slay the Spire and Darkest Dungeon and as of this review it is flying under everyone's radar. This game is still really good.

Oh Furi, your tight controls and head-bumping soundtrack keep bringing me back to you.

With a fairly low learning curve and an incredibly high skill ceiling Furi is a rollercoaster of fun boss battle action.

A couple small complaints would be that the game is pretty short and after a fight you have to walk FOREVER to get to the next one. That aside, the long walks give you plenty of time to appreciate the dope soundtrack.

Aside from the incredibly obvious nods to Afro Samurai, the story is weird and unintelligible right up until the very end where you say, "OHHHH." At the end of the day, the only story you need out of Furi is this, "You're a badass-cyber-gun-weilding-samurai and you got people to kill."

A great game worth playing if only to hear the soundtrack one more time.

I kind of fell off Pillars of Eternity half way in but Tyranny had me hooked all the way to the end.

I found myself getting sucked into the lore of the world and really enjoyed reading into every bit of information I could find in the game (Edicts are insane).

It really felt like my character belonged in the world. Often times I find that my characters always feel out of place or feel too much like a deus ex machina. While your character is obviously going to be doing unreasonable things that only a main character could, the game does a really great job of escalating the importance of your character and his/her actions over time.

The combat in Tyranny felt like a great upgrade from PoE. The level up system is fantastic and by the end of the tech tree you really feel like your character is a total badass.

One small complaint I have is that at a certain point late in the game the story kicks things up to eleven. It's awesome and makes you feel super cool but then the game ends pretty soon after that. So, really my only complaint is that there wasn't enough time to utilize the badass new tool they gave me. I want more Tyranny!

My end-game outcome was shockingly exactly how I wanted it to go, something that has never happened to me in an RPG. All my choices leading up to the end had the EXACT desired outcome. This blew my mind. A lot of RPG's will end in a specific way despite certain choices you make, often times making you feel like your choices may not have actually mattered all that much in the grand scheme of things. Before I hit the end of the game, I thought to myself, "This is how I imagine MY story would end." I was very happy to find that Tyranny felt the same way.

I can not wait to see what comes next from Obsidian Entertainment because Tyranny has set the standard pretty high.

A well deserved 5/5

This game is so close to being something absolutely amazing which makes it all the more depressing when it falls short.

The combat was fun at first but quickly devolved into me using the overpowered melee to hoard bullets. There are about 4 enemy types and the only ones that really pose any threat at all are the smaller ones that jump at you. Every other enemy you can just back up and melee them to conserve ammo.

Running the train was a really cool concept that the game doesn't really do much with at all. You get passengers who are either bleeding or hungry and if they manage to make it to the final destination you get paid in money and the occasional upgrade. That's about it. The train has various systems that you have to keep in check or the power will run out and start to kill your passengers, but the train only ever has a single system that needs to be worked on which leads to every train ride being far too simplistic. Also, if you heal a guy that is bleeding he'll start bleeding again within seconds(why?!).

I found the story to be pretty great right up until the very end where the game kind of just takes a ♥♥♥♥ on you and leaves you wanting more.

I appreciate that the game has no randomly generated levels but this works against it in some cases as well. The passengers that you get on the train will get hungry and food will "seem" scarce but in the end you will always find enough food in the levels between stops to make sure everyone gets to the end alive you just have to put forth a tiny bit of effort to find it.

I fired the shotgun once at the very end of the game. The shotgun bullets were scarce and there never seemed to be a moment that felt like using the shotgun bullets would be worth it or necessary. Also, you can sell the shotgun bullets for a lot of money early on. Which brings me to the next complaint, money means basically nothing in this game. You get maybe three oportunities to spend money and you will probably have enough to buy everything each time. At a certain point you just find like a million dollars which is the game telling you that you're never going to spend money again. Pretty disappointing when you save money early on only to find that you should have just spent it all.

Again, this game is so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ close to being amazing, it just feels that every aspect of it was one or two steps away from its potential. The train could have used an upgrade path and even some more difficulty such as multiple things to keep track of instead of one per ride. The melee should be higher risk and the enemies more diverse. Money should have a higher value and the food and medical stuff for passengers should have forced you to make harder decisions. Instead, about half way through the game just felt wrote, like nothing I did actually mattered.

I would be very interested in a sequel if it just took all of it's mechanics further.
