I dismissed this game pretty early on on my first playthrough. Now, 7 years later, I decided to revisit the (now Definitive) edition, and I don't know what was wrong with me at the time. This game is 100% worthy of all the GTAs, Watch Dogs and the like. It has its very own atmosphere, strolling and driving in Hong Kong is a very distinctive and pleasant experience, the emphasize on hand-to-hand combat is refreshing and demanding, with the environmental kills giving it a very fun tone (not for the guy on the other end though). The mini-games are OK while quickly redundant, and the storyline is a welcome change from the usual lone vigilante/straight up bad guy.

A really underappreciated title, even years later.
