Its been said more eloquently and more in-depth in previous reviews, but the nerf mindset is absolutely abhorrent with the developers. Any weapon seeing more than a zero percent pick rate will be nerfed, it isn't a matter of if it is just a matter of when. The community consistently complains about this "balance philosophy" but the devs clearly do not care as they keep doing it. If you want an actually enjoyable horde shooter with a dev team that cares about fun instead of making the AI enemies not feel sad, play DRG or Vermintide.

game aint it right now. still poorly optimized even after claims to the contrary and updates stating they're working on it, clear cut meta weapons and characters with some characters and weapons being completely unusable without concessions (looking at senja having zero base sustain to stay in a melee fight, but nothing in her kit complements a ranged build), most enemy types are bullet sponges unless you're using a clearly favored build, absolutely draining grind with little payoff, and worst of all, ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ power level sync when you go into lower leveled content for no discernible reason.

just a goofy lil game, pretty fun. the people whining about it "being a bad port" or "being predatory" are mental, of course its similar to other games. thats how games work. you people are gonna flip when you hear about candy crush coming after bejeweled. and whining about microtransactions? buddy if you feel tempted to get a fruit reskin in a single player matching game YOU'RE the issue.

Everyone's already said it, but the story is irredeemable garbage. Every new character is written horribly and they somehow ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up the characters from the past too. as far as a storytelling standpoint, the game is bottom-tier trash. And ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ the humor has failed miserably. All 2012 xD random humor and sex and gross out humor. Way too much usage of "haha poop funni".

The only redeeming factor is the actual gameplay itself, with the main calling card of the series pulling through with a bunch of creative character builds and gun types. The actual difficulty itself spikes randomly and plummets as well, making for an overall unbalanced experience.

If you really want to play the game, do yourself a favor and mute character dialogue and skip cutscenes. Ignore the story and characters entirely and you might enjoy it.

This is one of the best games I have played. Plain and simple. Where it isn't quite an episodically long game with much to do like I typically enjoy, the world that this small game created in the few hours of gameplay is spectacular. The stories and characters this game presents to you are worth more than any other game I've played. VA-11 Hall-A pulls you in with interesting characters and narratives, taking you along a ride of day-to-day life, jokes, depression, life choices, and coping. Being able to draw a personal connection to some of the story made it that much more special for me while I was playing it. The game is short, but every minute is enjoyable. The soundtrack is great, not too intrusive but still a good fit for the aestetic of the game. The ability to choose a short little playlist for each game day allows you to listen to the music that best fits the mood you're feeling.

This isn't a game you just pick up at random, but rather one for a nice quiet night by yourself where you settle in with a
light beer and take your time to fully appreciate the story that is being told.

For what it's worth, Christopher and Fernando have created a little masterpiece, and while I'm sad to see it end, the game I experienced was magnificent.
