An honestly enchanting experience. The music and art style of the game are, on their own, enough to justify playing, in my opinion. I would say more about certain places where they shine, but I think it's worth it to experience them in-game without a spoiler.

The combat is overall good, but it has some (in my opinion fairly small) issues. Others have noted that the combat is hard, and I agree that it definitely is for a little while, but after some practice the game slides nicely into somewhat challenging but definitely fair. Some parts of the dashing feel a little janky on occasion, but it's a minor annoyance at most.

The game incentivizes exploration with its beautiful style while rewarding it with exploration being the primary way to get the materials for various upgrades and new abilities. The world is also very clearly rich with lore and story, but it takes a route somewhat similar to Hollow Knight in that a lot of the lore, history, and context are left for the player to uncover and piece together. The story is told entirely through the environment, cutscenes, and these three-panel NPC dialogues, none of which have written words, so it can be easy to miss if you don't want to pay attention to it. If you enjoy having a mysterious history to unravel and interpret, though, this is exactly the kind of game for you.

Overall, it makes for a beautiful and captivating experience. One of my top 5 games of all time, for sure.

I went into this game expecting it to be mostly a joke. I was not expecting this to be one of the better games that I've played in months. It's charming, pretty funny, and incredibly fun to play. Great gameplay loop, great upgrades, great everything. Absolutely recommend, this game is honestly worth more than its current $10 price.

The visuals in this game are somehow better than the first, the story is so good that I feel like stating my feelings on it would be spoiling it somehow, the platforming is as excellent as ever and is only improved by the new abilities, and the combat is engaging and has some skill to it. The only possible issue I can find is the frame rate problems on some hardware. I give the game a 10/10; it's more than completely worth the price.

Story's compelling, the locations (so far) are interesting, can't wait to see where it goes next. It's just generally great and well made also.
