In my opinion, a straightforward but bittersweet story. Although I would've liked to see more, it was certainly satisfactory. You could tell the developers poured a lot of love into this game, seeing that simply backgrounds and sprites looked incredibly stunning and the sheer amount of CG despite the game length.

muv luv alternative has shattered my very heart and soul and has left me in depression

Fantastic start of the muv-luv trilogy!! imo the more time you spend in Extra (finishing each characters routes) the more impact the setting shift in Unlimited will be so don't be afraid to spend lots of time with the characters because it all leads to a greater experience later on in the third part of the trilogy!!
