"Only in death does duty end. Even in death, I still serve."

You're just barely hanging on by a thread, fighting for your life on the brink of death in the name of the Emperor. That's the feeling you have during almost every battle in the game, and it feels absolutely amazing. Any gameplay you watch will not do it justice, it feels way better to play than it looks.

I died a lot in the beginning, but it never felt like a drag. I totally get why the Veteran difficulty is marked as the "intended experience" by the developers, and I too recommend going for that if you're somebody who normally goes for Normal difficulty in action/shooter games. Your duty is to be an expendible asset to the Emperor of Mankind, serving a greater purpose; exterminating xenos filth that pose a threat to The Imperium of Man. Your duty is to die in service when He wishes, where He wishes. To admit defeat is blaspheme against the Emperor. It is not meant to be easy, and always being at the brink of death plays so well into the lore.

Spearking of the lore, it is extremely well presented, both in art and writing. The writing immerses you so well into the game and the universe, but it never overstays its welcome. It doesn't try to be a movie and doesn't prattle on with content filler trash / poor attempts at comic relief (no "well, that went well hehe"-esque comments). There is some comedy, but it's all canon and all fits perfectly (stuff like (light spoiler)a marine raging so hard over the appalling HERESY at play that he loses control and ignores command to go on a heretic killing spree). Conversations are on-brand, efficient and to the point, as expected from Space Marines.

Gameplay is tight, very responsive, feels amazing. No fluff like weapon attachments or skill trees, but I haven't found myself missing any of those things. It's actually really refreshing with a game you just pick up and play and that's it. Someone called it an Xbox 360 game released in 2024, and that's a great description. It's just realy solid and fun gameplay - no more, no less.

If you are into the Warhammer 40k universe, you'll love the accuracy and attention to detail, and if you are new to it, you couldn't ask for a better introduction. I could write a longer review mentioning everything I love about the game, but I'd rather just go back to playing it now.

Outstanding game with what feels like endless content. Runs like a dream on Steam Deck. One of those games you could buy at full price and not be dissapointed when there is a 50% off sale two days later. You'd still be happy, because it was well worth the price.

It's basically in early alpha state. There are some performance issues and the game is generally unpolished. That being said, I play on Linux so it could be that too.

If you're interested, don't let the negative reviews deter you. As somebody who has never been big on the RTS genre this is something I appreciate and I feel like I could really get into it. There is less reliance on micromanagement of buildings and more "overall" commands that you can execute from anywhere and it just picks one for you. You can of course still play the old fashioned way.

I think the free part of the campaign is the fine and assuming the game sticks around I will buy and play the campaign. Maybe not yet though, mostly because I have to play on low right now and I still get stuttering. I will follow the game's development and play every now and then and see how this progresses.

Regarding all the negative reviews, having played the game I view them as overly negative. I think many people here come from Starcraft 2 and to them I say what did you expect? Yes, the game with 10 years worth of updates from one of the biggest gaming companies in the world by market cap is more polished than the unfinished early access indie title still in development.

This isn't a 15€ game. Had I not gotten this in a bundle, it would be an instant refund.

This is the best game of all time, and it's the gameplay and movement mechanics that carry it to that title.
Since the original Mirror's Edge came out, no game has ever had such amazing gameplay. This game doesn't fall short of that. Since Catalyst is open-world, you can just keep running and running and running and using all the mechanics to move around and go anywhere you want in the beautiful city of glass. Just moving around in this game is a true joy in itself. I've spent countless hours doing it. If you're ever stressed, just log on to Mirror's Edge Catalyst for a while and enjoy it. You'll feel better.

Just how good is this game?
Well, I first played through the original Mirror's Edge together with a friend at his house on his Xbox 360.
When my family got a PS3, I got the game for that.
Then I got the PC version as well.

As for Mirror's Edge Catalyst, I got access to this game through my origin access subscription I had at the time.
Even though I could already play it, I bought it just because I wanted it. I just wanted to own it and I wanted to tell EA; "Here, take my money. Just let DICE make another one."
Later, I also got the Collector's Edition that features a statue, some paintings/postcards, and a couple of other things.
A while after that I found the DICE Collector's Edition on eBay (a special version of the CE only meant for DICE staff), and I got that one as well.

Now that it is releasing on Steam, I am getting it again.

That's how damn good of a game this is. I keep paying for it even though I don't even have to. It's a masterpiece. It's to gameplay what The Last of Us is to story. Just buy it. 20€ is a steal, and it's even more of a steal if you get it at a discounted price. And while you're at it shoot an email to EA begging them to let DICE make another one.

Edit: Also, note that pretty much all of the bad reviews are about people being butthurt about having to use origin. Obviously they aren't going to reprogram the entire online system to go through Steamworks just because they release it on here. Don't look at these reviews as representative of the gameplay.

This is easily the best poker game I have ever played. In VR, the experience is completely different from other poker games, and you really have a good time with the other players at your table.

You don't play with real money and there is no pay to win. The monetization system is just the type of system you want in a game like this. There are things you may want for sale, but nothing you really need. You can buy chips for real money in the cash shop, but it is definitely not needed and I actually don't see any need for it all since you can spin a giant roulette table once every 8 hours for free chips. The only reason you would want that is if you manage to play away all of your chips and for some reason can not wait until you get more. There are toys and gadgets you can get in the cash shop such as cameras, hats, cigarettes, etc. These are really fun to play and interact with, but definitely not something you need to enjoy the game.

Like others have mentioned, the bad thing is that sometimes there can be some griefers and "always go all in"-players that ruin the experience. It would be nice to see some kind of vote-kick function implemented in the future. Also, another player at my table crashed once, but he was using the Quest client. They do call it early access though, so I image they will fix that eventually.
