Wish I'd never bought it. Dev is the 'wants to murder dark skinned ppl' level of racist. Games ok in and of itself, has some problems and feels unpolished.

Is it a Pokemon clone? Yes. Is it a better evolution of the Pokemon formula than recent Pokemon games? Yes.

Don't take it too seriously. It's a cool fun game. It's pay to progress faster. The multiplayer is asynchronous. It can be fairly difficult, but until you get into the late game levels it's pretty chill overall. Just have fun with it. Don't stress if you die. The game's title is what it is for a reason.

Does this play anything like other entries in the Divinity series? Nope. Is it still a fun game with some good humorous bits? Yup.

Good game, devs keep putting the work in and they've made it easy to install previous versions of the game if there's an update you don't like. Solid game, dedicated developers.

The game is interesting but it's so buggy I can't recommend it. Repeated crashes at the early stages of the game have made it hard to make enough progress to get a good feel for anything the game has to offer. What I have managed to actually experience so far is intriguing tho, and if the vast array of bugs gets addressed I'll probably take another whack at it and update this 'review'.

Unfinished, buggy as hell, but worth supporting. Price is a little steep though. Personally, I wouldn't pay more than 5 bucks for it in its current state unless you're solely interested in building and crafting. Those two aspects of the game are pretty fleshed out and extremely fun to mess with. Other parts of the game...not so much. Enemy variety needs a lot of work, hit boxes are wonky, there are tons of bugs, taming needs expanded, the game systems need to be introduced better, etc etc. It's one of those games that has really deep mechanics but 99% of it isn't explained or is buggy as hell. To be fair, it's early access, it's a given that these problems will exist, but they're worth mentioning. As long as the dev actually addresses the problems and launches the game in a finished state, I'll be happy.

TL;DR - Poorly designed interfaces, a lack of good tutorials, elitist community. If none of that turned you off, by all means give it a go. I highly suggest playing with a friend who knows the game well.

Personally, I think people have conflated bad design with gameplay difficulty on this one. There's a difference between something being challenging because it takes good strategy and planning and something being frustrating because you can't navigate the UI efficiently and the tutorial fails to teach essential gameplay mechanics. Poorly explained gameplay mechanics and horribly designed interfaces make games more cumbersome and boring, not more challenging.
