Because since man first learned to stand on his own feet and stare into the forest, that impending doom that plagued any other creature became his curiosity.
Because we saw the top of a mountain and said "what is it like to be there?". We saw an endless desert and thought "what lies beyond?". We saw an ocean, filled with water we couldn't drink, and believed "something great must lie beyond!".
Because when all other creatures slink away, interested in little else but their own existence in a cosmic blip of a nanosecond, we demand more. We demand immortality - and we can have it.
When Eve and Adam ate from the tree of knowledge they took the divine's plan and threw it to the winds and so now we create our own manifest destiny. Because this isn't just another rock to die on - it's a testament. Man's testament to progress, discovery, and adventure.
