Update: January 2018
With the launch of 1.0, Subnautica has been added to my list of Early Access games I'm super happy to have gotten involved in.

Performance has only improved over multiple releases, features got tweaked and improved, making them not only functional but fun and engaging. I have absolutely loved the ride of Subnautica, the only thing I wish I could do would be to wipe my memory of playing and starting fresh, the amazing wonder you get the first time you start to play is difficult to match in any other game.

Update: November 2016
So, after a long break i've come back and started fresh. When I originally played, I was able to quickly unlock vehicles and such before seabases were in-game, and at that stage building a seabase when they came out felt pointless and of little benefit.

I've now started fresh, with vehicles locked behind blueprints and basic seabase structures available from the start, and now found myself needing a seabase in order to progress.

More and more content continues to be added, I'm enjoying the game immensly with the same original atmosphere when I first started and so much more to do, I'm looking forward to building my way back up to owning a Cyclops and making my base self-sufficient.

I originally dropped over 30 hours into Subnautica, I see a lot more ahead of me now and still highly recommend this game to anyone interested in survival games, this definitely is a unique and fun twist.
