If you have never played Dark Souls 1 buy this game. It is in my opinion the best game ever made and will ruin gaming for you forever because you will never experience a game as good as this one again.

If you have played the original theres not much here unless you want an excuse to play through the game again.

Pros:
• 60 FPS
• Better HD textures than modding for now.
• 6 Player online multiplayer up from 4.
• Nemerious bug fixes (Gravelord Covenant actually works)
• Several quality of life changes such as new bonfires in the catacombs and being able to consume more than one of the same soul at a time.

Cons:
• If you owned the original steam version of this game this should have been free. Even at a discounted price of 50% for original owners $20 is a joke. Look at games like Skyrim that gave their remastered versions for free to original game owners. It's a giant slap in the face and if it wasn't for the fact that this is my favorite game of all time and having put over 500 hours into it across 2 platforms I wouldn't have bought it or supported this business practice. But hey it was $20 and gives me an excuse to replay a great game I haven't played in 7 years so whatever. In short only diehard fans should rebuy this cash grab. The community is thriving again and will for long time so this is a judgment call if you have already played the game. Even to new buyers of the game $40 is an egregious price point for a 7 year old game with a slightly nicer coat of paint. If the game was $20 for new buyers and free for original owners then it would be fairly priced but fromsoftware sold out and it's just sad. Hopefully Demon's Souls remastered isint as dissapointing.
