Borderlands is the game that started it all; the looter shooter and it was conceived from the idea of mixing Halo with Diablo. I first played this at release in 2009 and imo has aged like a fine whiskey. This version is a remaster of that game with some QOL improvements and enhanced graphics. Only complaint is it has a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ memory leak that’s still hasn’t been unaddressed (this version). When you’ve been playing for long periods of time, the frame rate can suddenly drops to sub 30 fps. It didn’t happen a lot during my play through, but it’s there. There are community patches you can download if it’s something that’s frequently happening to you. Overall, it’s still worth playing, especially as an entry point to the series.

TLDR but longer down vote explanation at the bottom
Crack rock gaming at its finest, with endless gameplay. Basically Poker/deck builder meets Vampire Survivors is the best way I can describe it. It sounds weird but hear me the ♥♥♥♥ out. You first start the game with a regular poker hand, each round allows only so many played hands and redraws, if you dont beat the targeted score before your hand runs out you lose. The “rouge lite” here is when you beat a round, you get money that you can spend on packs that can boost your cards or overall deck, and jokers which can modify/boost your entire build. The different type of builds you can set up each game is ridiculous and never gets old, as each run youre learning something new. Examples of builds are like a flush build, full house, 2 pair (typical poker), you try and build your entire deck so that you can support and boost these builds to be as powerful and dish out as much points as possible.

There are 8 antes to beat (endless after you beat it). Each ante has 3 rounds with the 3rd one being a boss with a random modifier, such as “all face cards are disabled”. The higher you go up in rounds and antes the harder the game becomes bc the points to beat keeps increasing.....

Explanation
Not gonna lie, Ive been sitting on the positive review above for awhile with plans to finish it later....just gonna stop here. This down vote hits me harder than an abusive stepdad. Had a hard crash in the game 120 hours in that completely wiped all my progress with no way of getting it all back. From what ive read this is something super rare, but has been going on since day 1. The game is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ stupid addictive. It's like any other rouge lite, the more you play the more you build, the better your outcomes as you get better at the game. I still have all my jokers Ive unlocked, but that's it, all stats and progress, gone. I simply cant recommend it after this ♥♥♥♥ happening to me after 120 hours of gameplay. The feeling is defeating. Ill still go back and play it later but this instance will always be in the back of my mind that as I progress my ♥♥♥♥ can crash and wipe. Consistently going and creating a back up aint it. Odds are youre probably not going to experience this. Like I said, super rare occurrence it seems, but the ♥♥♥♥ did happened to me and 120 hours are down the drain. I fell victim and if it weren't for that I would highly recommend this game.

It's the same Oblivion that you remember. What makes this so special is with all of it's flaws, it's still one of the best AAA games to come out within the last few years. This is a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ game that came out in 2006, and we're talking about it besting AAA games released 2 decades later. Absolutely pathetic. The graphics are solid as well. Be sure to download the Ayleid Reshade to get rid of the piss filter the game comes with.

GO BUY THE GAME OF THE YEAR EDITION
Had a pretty long ass review written on this but figured I'd shorten it up. This game is just as much the tits as it was 17 years ago. Graphically it's aged pretty damn well imo. Ive had zero issues and crashes, thanks to the removal of GFWL. Downloaded a couple of mods like the unofficial patch but honestly, it's a complete "plug-n-play" package right out the box; a rarity these days for games released pre-2010. Havent played it since before NV released and it was a breath of fresh air, with the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ that Bethesda has released since FO4 (havent played NV or 4 since their releases either for what it's worth). The music is solid and GNR (a radio station in game) is a must when playing the game. Overall it's still a fantastic game and rpg and holds up well in 2025. Just dont expect 2025 quality and youll have fun.

If youre like me and havent played 3 or any FO in awhile, it's definitely worth checking out or revisiting, especially if youre a fan of old Bethesda games.

If you wanna mod the game, youre gonna need the game of the year edition.

I purchased the Sims 1 and 2 bundle bc both games are classics and this is the first time S1 has been digital. S1 Ive had issues with. Sims 2? In my 15 hours play time so far ive had 0 crashes, lost 0 saves, and bugs have been at a minimum. Yeah there’s still some dumb AI ♥♥♥♥ like npc’s blocking pathways, but overall Ive had 0 issues. Not saying they dont exist bc clearly some folks are having issues, but this has been my experience so far.

RDR originally came out in 2010 and is a sequel to RDR2. R* finally ported it to PC and it both runs and looks really fantastic. 0 issues so far and for me the game runs at a smooth 144fps @4k on my 3080 ti. Yes this is a port of a 14 year old game, but this ♥♥♥♥ still looks insanely good for it's age, and the PC does it justice. Kb/m controls are solid as well. It's worth the $50 in my opinion and is absolutely without a doubt the best version of RDR.

I Personally cant review this without mentioning The Stick of Truth
Decent RPG but not as good as The Stick of Truth. These two games are actually pretty good RPGs with good character building and exploration of South Park. If you like South Park and enjoy RPGs youll like these games. SoT has the fantasy arc, while this is super heroes. They both have turn based JRPG like combat, SoT is your classic run of the mill Final Fantasy, while Fractured is more like FF Tactics. Overall Fractured is a pretty good game, just not as good or funny as Stick of Truth imo. It's as South Park as it gets and both of these games are like playing through a full season of South Park.
