Excellent sandbox sim, a bit slow due to optimization issues if the world(s) get big but still not terrible.

Great game, worth all the time sunk into it and then some.

It runs really well on steam deck too, always a plus.

UPDATE
They promised to reform and introduce economical changes, which so far have been looking half decent. If they actually do all the things they said they would without all the monkey paw trash, I may switch to positive rating.

NEW REVIEW AS OF 2023 MAY:
Lmao. So they didn't fix the game at all since I last wrote areview and decided they'd double down on the milking of players. Wrote a patronizing post about how the playerbase needed to be educated on how "F2P games work". What a joke. There is a boycott happening on May 26. Don't play this game, show them that them screwing around WILL affect their profits. Only way they will listen.

Also, they are allegedly planning on exiting from Steam entirely to suppress bad reviews. What a clown car of a company. Don't give them an inch.

PREVIOUS REVIEW:
They just applied a global formula to completely screw with tank shells and change the meta landscape. Everything is screwed up and a lot of tanks are either underperforming or overperforming now. If you're starting new or coming back, stay away until they fix this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. They're also adding rank 7 vehicles like the Challenger 2 but it won't matter because top tier gameplay requires you to have invested a huge amount of time and/or money into this game so don't be fooled by their fancy announcements. Truth be told it's not as amazing as it looks. Run around, point and click. If you want the same experience, go play the Crusader Mark II, much lower rank and much easier to get. Toptier is unplayable without premium as every shot costs you an arm and leg and tank repair costs are through the roof. Planes too.

I have nearly 1600 hours at the time of writing, but I have more from before I got the steam client. I can safely say the developers currently have no intention of fixing their godforsaken game and will continue to push new content inaccessible to most of the population. The game used to be fun at lower ranks, but now that's irrelevant too.

Will change review if they actually fix the game

Early Access Review
Got the Mark II power armor
Added 2 Mr. Fusions (Fusion Generators) and 7 exosuit skeletons.
>210% speed bost
>able to outrun enemies
Who needs cars anyway
>Attempt to destroy enemy base
>forget shields and get instakilled

10/10 would be flash again, and it only took me 50 hours to get there

You should be crawling out to the Fallout 4.

Then proceed to forget about why you came out of Vault 111 and get lost in what is the ruins of Massachusetts, looking for things to kill and quests to complete.

Think you're better then the AI when it comes to playing?

-Have over 300 hours on record?
-Super mirco control?
-Studied economics and passed with an A?
-A master of gaming?
-An IQ over 160?

All that is pointless if you play against Gandhi.
He WILL destroy you the first chance he sees. He offers peace? Take it, make an army, RAZE his nation as soon as possible. Even then go overkill. He will most likely look like he is a weak nation, but leaving him alone will GURANTEED result in giant death robots standing at your doorstep, with nuclear warheads pointed at every single one of your cities.

Remember that joke about Gandhi in Civ V asking to trade diamonds with corn or WAR? No joke, it comes from actual experience of so many players that underestimated Gandhi then got destroyed relentlessly. If you decide to add Gandhi, it means you want a fight. Science victory? Diplomatic victory? Nope, until Gandhi is taken out nothing is possible.

Have fun fighting the most unfair and powerful AI in game.

P.S. I played with Gandhi, he wages war on 4 countries (including me) after just 100 turns.

He still won.

RIP in pieces

The game is a great one. The details in the movement of resources as well as taxes and other monetary management are flawless, and the warfare between factions or yourself make the game even more enjoyable. After the campaign, I thought this game would have no replay value, but I was dead wrong. The game is fun no matter how many times you play it. Overall, it's a great game.

One thing I'd like to address, however, is Ubisoft's loader program, UPlay. Let me just say that the program is total $hit. You cannot use it for anything, as it won't even get past the login screen. For those of you who hate it as much as I do, try to run it in compatibility mode or as an Administrator, as that works (sometimes.) If it wasn't for that program, Anno 2070 would be the ideal game for the average RTS-loving player. Trust me, it's worth the money, but if you hate technicalities, then you might waht to stay away from this, and all Ubisoft games altogether.
