If you like to kill and be killed in space.. this is a pretty fun game. I've had this long before it became free on steam, so do ignore my hours. My main is a old beta toon. Basically be a pirate here. If you get distracted running economy/market/factory stuff... you'll find its a life of struggle to keep breaking even. If you just get out there an pirate, you'll find proper tactics will make you wealthy. Do look at joining a large PVP corp, it will be helpful. There is a vast many players much more advanced than your noob toon... reach out, make friends but still never trust anyone.

pretty fun, reminds me of the original but quickly gets challenging. If you like classic feeling stuff like this, do add it to your library.

Clunky combat, and its filled with PVP trolls. The community in SOT is mostly toxic. Game is not balanced for 1-2 players, its a game for groups of 3-4. It is fun to play, and i do frequent solo sloop....just wrap your head around the fact that its a pirate game, and your probably better off troll stalking ports, hunting those returning from quests.

This is my game. Started in the late 90's with the original Half-Life...
Played almost all the Mods - but CS has always been installed.

nearly 22 years with games, nothing entertains me quite like competitive counter strike.
CS:GO is a must if you call yourself a gamer.

yes hacking does plague the game, but Valve is decent with a community based Overwatch which helps.

This is a different FPS-MO, your ability to work as a team will bring better success than run/shoot tactics. Recommend you watch several videos on spray control and how to move around corners properly.

**UPDATE for CS2. just avoid, its riddled with hackers and valve supports this as they buy skins. unless we all stop playing, nothing is going to change. Either buy skins and hack, or just uninstall. Sad but true, plenty of blogs and vids to support this claim. ♥♥♥♥ you valve, after nearly 20 years supporting CS and Valve, i'm done. I'll never invest in a Valve game again, pos the valve team is.. Eat my ♥♥♥♥ valve**

Took a minute to get use to game play style. So far it keeps me interested moving through each goal (i guess you could call them quests). I'm not particularly interested in the story line, but game play is fun and reminds me of a FF7 meets EverQuest.

Background sounds are overly repetitive and can get annoying.

Low game play time so far, I'll update the review after leveling up a few more times. So far i like it, fun play and nice toon graphics, nice turn based combat outweighs any cons so far. If you enjoy MMO and clicker games, this is a fairly casual easy to play MMO clicker.. and its free at the moment!

LOL, i just keep comming back to this game (2 years now). Perfect casual space strat game, relaxing but adictive.
Cool down your FPS and MMORPG jets and enjoy a nice space cruse.

Addicting! Not sure I like subscription for unlocks thought.

Disappointed in latest release (May 2016), subscription is now the push and the build of your bot has less importance vs subscriber weapons.

So your going to die fast and over and over if not a subscriber.

Played TOO much in early access, rating change to thumbs down, and wait a few months to see if they can fix the game.

I would be happy to buy, but a subscription no... Set free play on a different server and keep the subscription based players on their own would be a easy fix. Its just too unbalanced at this time. Missiles make me salty
