The one and only reason I've decided to write this review is because of the Steam Awards. I have nominated EDF for the Dogs of War award even though it's unbelievably hard to describe why is this game so fun and weird at once.

I love EDF. Even though I didn't play that much and even though I didn't finish it, it's a game that I always remember as THAT ONE GAME WHERE YOU SHOOT HUNDREDS OF GIANT ANTS AND ROBOTS WITH BALLISTIC ROCKETS, SPACE RAYS AND BIG RED INFLATABLE BALLOONS (wait what). It never fails to amaze you with the sheer amount of different weapons and ways to kill your enemies with a big ba-da-boom

The graphics are not too shiny. When they game came out on the consoles, it didn't look good back then.
Music is nothing special. FIne, but I don't wake up in the middle of the night whistling the main menu theme. Except for the "edf deploys" song, this one is unbelieveably catchy.
The animations are sub-par at most in case of the insects.
The story (huh, there is some story, wow) is so B-quality that it's absolutely hilarious. "They have a screen shield. My god, they have A SCREEN SHIELD! That explains everything!" or "They have survived for the last 8 years. How? Oh, they were living underground right under our biggest cities. We didn't know about it. We are shocked." A delightful humor in parodying the staples of the genre.

But ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ me if it is not the game I think about when I say "Quality coop action experience".
Buy it. You either love it in the first hour or two or you don't like it from the first second. There is no third option. Try it and then return if you don't like it. Or welcome to the EDF family. Strike team out.
