Monster Hunter Wilds.. Is a great game but, The port & lack of care for the PC makes the title an awful experience. Let's start with the launch of the game. I had the game pre installed to my m.2 ssd & for about the first hour the game was released, According to Steam. I was unable to even boot it. It flat out wouldn't work.. I took a peek at the community tab & it was full of threads with the same issue. Thankfully, I was able to get the game to boot & never had that issue again.

Moving on, The game itself is GREAT! I would argue it's better than Rise & World but, It's a shame the performance isn't. I'm lucky enough to have a higher end PC which is rockin' a RTX 4070 ti paired with 32 gb of DDr5 ram & an i9 12900k. I'm 100% forced to use frame generation with DLSS enabled to reach a somewhat stable frame rate above 100. Even then, I do experience frame drops! .. If that's what I'm dealing with, I feel bad for anyone with lower & more reasonable specs. That's not the only issue though. I get weird graphical glitches every once in a while & the game just loves to crash to desktop sometimes when I attempt to depart after posting a quest. It's quite annoying, It happens way too often.

Even though people are defending it, I still find some of the micro transactions extremely greedy. Yes, I'm talking about the vouchers just to make edits to your hunter & palico.. I don't get why people continue to defend such awful publisher practices. It really needs to stop. Oh, to add insult to injury Capcom blames the Steam users for the games poor PC performance! Giving basic instruction to make sure we are on the latest drivers & giving other useless troubleshooting steps instead of just saying they're working on fixing it! Yes Capcom, I updated my Nvidia drivers before booting your game. It all goes back to how the game runs..

Overall, I'm trying to stick with it. Underneath all the crashes, Crappy performance & greedy practices, There is a GREAT Monster Hunter game here! It's also fully cross-platform so, I'm able to play with my Xbox & Ps5 friends without much of a problem. I'm still going recommend against the game though. I DO NOT support the practice of launching a broken pile of dog sh*t on PC & charging full price for it. Please, Capcom.. Fix this game, Otherwise I can see a lot of players leaving it.
