Great continuation of the first game. Base building got tons of improvements. Lore has more depth, with actual characters. In some ways the ocean feels a little smaller, but land areas help compensate that.

Hard to say which game is better than the other. I've had a 3 year gap between this and the first one. Overall they provide the same experience and I couldn't recommend one over the other. Play both.
