DOOM Eternal Review

DOOM Eternal is the direct sequel to the DOOM reboot from 2016, you take control of the DOOM Slayer as you Rip and Tear through the demonic corruption of planet earth.


GAME PLAY : Game play is nearly Flawless, with a wide array of weaponary at your disposal with swift and seamless movement added, the game makes you feel like a real Badass demon slayer. Ripping through hordes of demons does not get old providing the player with a wide variety of enemies, all with their own personalities and tactics .The Level design is complex and visually pleasing , especially when compared to the previous entry.

PERFORMANCE: id Tech 7 is an incredibly optimised engine. Game runs very smooth across a wide range of hardware, running at Ultra 144fps+ on a RTX 2070. Graphics are good and vibrant. No frame drops at all especially with the Vulkun API.

AUDIO/MUSIC : Legendary composer Mick Gordon has done it again, the tracks he composed are metal af and compliments the atmosphere well. Gun sounds are also beefy and sound good.

MULTIPLAYER : The only negative side of the game for me was the MP the player vs demon controlled player aspect could never compare to an arena style game play experience the game could of supported.

GAME LENGTH : Good, 20 or so hours for the first play through.

FINAL VERDICT : DOOM Eternal is just about as good as a single player FPS can get, i'd really have to nitpick to find any flaws in its design. My only negative point on the game is the lack luster multiplayer but that may change in the future if they incorporate proper arena style death match. id Software has delivered a excellent experience once again , this games an necessity for any FPS fan out there.
