(The total number of Hours only reflect the amount of playtime that the Steam Copy allowed me to play before the Version split, at this point forward, I would say I have over 10k hours and counting.)

This is my MMO. This is the only MMO I would return to, without question, without fail, without complaint.

From the One Character/Many JobxClass design, allowing me to not carry around a butt ton of alts, to the general class and job balance, to the world-building and level design... Square Enix was right to save this game from hell and back.


Would I recommend this game to someone in 2021? Yes, as a singleplayer game with slight multiplayer elements. Would I recommend they start playing now? No, wait until Endwalker, the Next Xpac (at the time of writing, Shadowbringers is entering patch 5.5 in April 15). Why wait? Because the full story, the complete 10 (Yes I do mean 10 if you include the 1.0 story) year story-line will be concluded and all that players, like myself, a 10 year Legacy Veteran, have be waiting to complete.


Should you at least buy it? Yes. Here? Yes... maybe? I would by the Square Enix Store Version if you want physical stuff... but sometimes Digital is good, and if you are new to this game, always get it on Steam, as you will never have to wait for long downloads. And if you do have a 1.0 Legacy, 2.0 Non-Steam Version, or Physical Version, Buy the Steam Starter Edition, and run the game through the ExE over the Steam Client, that way you have the add in benefit of never having to look for CDs or Odd Download sites for your copy of the game.
